Us and them

The team has looked much different in the last two games, which has been the hardest 2 game stretch of BE play. Good sign

It all starts with the defense. It’s been 100% active, engaged, communicative, and strong. If you play good defense but you get beat by a great individual shot, then whatever. But no swiss cheese defense like Creighton. It’s looked much better

Tarris has the skill, yesterday he had the will. Need that passion every game!

Karaban with back to back double digit scoring games, and we already know he does everything else well. I was surprised to see this was his first time scoring double digits in 2 straight games since Jan 10-13. 12 and 13 games ago. Need this consistency from our senior leader

Solo has cut out the forced shots and has played within himself. “Only” 10 points a game in the last two games, but they’ve come very efficiently at 53%. Of course we know he can still light it up like he did against Butler and Georgetown

Bench contributions have been really strong the last two games. Need that moving forward!
And then there was Seton Hall at home...we (and they) never know which team is gonna show up

NHL player interviews after losses seemed (when we used to watch a lot of games) to follow a pattern, "well, we came out with no energy and could never catch up, but we'll get 'em next time".

Tarris was full of energy after St. John's and said he'll be ready to play like that from now on and against Seton Hall had stats equal to their freshman center.

He's so important to the team he can't do that in the Tournament or it could be a first weekend exit. Dan Hurley has worked on him in that regard all year, talking about the bear and how much we need him to be aggressive and smart, and TR told the interviewer after St. John's that he knows what he needs to do and is ready.

Let us pray......

After last night and Nova this team showed what we can (and will) be in March.
All year there has been a feeling that AZ, Duke, Michigan, and a few others are playing in a different league.

We beat Fla with little problem- (SEC not great either) manned up to AZ (UConn depleted too) and handled Illinois with no issue.

Yet, listening to field of 68 last night- even after the beatdown- it sounded like UConn was outside looking in on those other teams.

I for one- think it's just collective consciousness that the ncaa and media creates around the P4.

They're not NBA teams
And after all, they're only ordinary men.

We haven't had the style point in winning BE games. That's all this is. If you compare losses of the top teams we are right there. The middle of the other conferences are not determinative in power ratings.

I like flying under the radar a little bit. Let everybody ride the Duke/Michigan/Arizona bandwagons. Start to notice UConn around the sweet 16. Hopefully next thing they know they're staring at UConn in the round of 8.
That’s my preference in every sport in team’s I root for. To elaborate, I love rooting for a team that has the talent and coaching that can win a title but isn’t considered favorites. Fine by me!

He should not be on the floor during any UCONN game. If I was still a teenager I’d TP his house.

Some people never learn. What i have learned is that if Uconn is in the tournament there is always a possibility theyre going to win it. I learned this after 2011 and 2014. After those two experiences i learned never to doubt that we could win a title whether we`re a 1 seed or 7 we are a legit threat to win it all any time we are in it. btw i hate that one shining moment song. I find it so cheesy. Couldnt even bring myself to watch it after the game until 2014. Still hate it but love what it represents. It insists upon itself. lol!

Well I guess there had to be one person on the planet who hates that song. I get chills whenever I hear Luther sing it.

.-.
The song was made in 1986.

To put in perspective, that’s like if people in 1986 were still listening to a basketball song from the end of World War II.

Time to replace it, even Luther has been gone for 20 years.
Your point is we shouldn't be listening to the best artists of all-time because they made their songs a long time ago?

I don't think reffing is going to change all that much in this year's tourney.

Refs were specifically told to focus more at on-ball fouls especially freedom to move as the ball handler. That and contact to the groin, can call only a flagrant foul if it exists and is caught while reviewing other plays like inbounds and things like that. So off-ball fouls have to be 1) obvious 2) impeding a player illegally. It's the first that's the issue - if a ref doesn't see a shirt hold or similar they aren't calling it.

AZ, Duke and Michigan have played better than us game by game over the course of the season, and especially since we all got into conference schedules. People see that. Most UConn fans see that. But as the non-conference schedule and the last three halves showed, I don’t doubt that we can compete at that level. We’re just getting to the part of the season where we have to bring our best up and down the roster every game.
If we play how we did against the Hall last week and the opponent is Iowa State, do we win?

My point is that song sounds dated and anyone under 55 would use one of their skips as soon as the first notes played.

It’s a potato chip jingle like the one the Entertainment Tonight guy did for the NBA.

What would you prefer, Taylor Swift? 21 Savage?
