The quote on Purvis cracks me up, for some reason. It sounds like it's directly from a movie. In fact, everything he says sounds like it could be from a movie. He could be the best actor of all-time without ever acting. Basically Will Smith reincarnated as a basketball coach, is what he is.
I think you meant Denzel. Seriously, Will Smith!?

Students need to throw gummy bears on the court after each win this year.
After every rebound, dunk, midrange shot and 3 made by DD! Maybe KO will see the light!

Speaking of Leon, I hope he got her number...

I dunno. Judging by the rest of those kids it looks like the EO Smith J.V. cross country team or something.

This was by far my favorite picture from the run:
View attachment 3793
Purvis posted it on Instagram and his caption of the picture was, "My guy!"

Was going to post that. Was also going to post this tweet by Rodney:

"@rpurvis5: Love this school, all my teammates, coaches and fans. Haven't had a outside family like this in a long time."

That's awesome. Who wouldn't want to play here?

Seriously how could anybody not want to play here. It really is a family, Ollie is tough on them but they love and respect him. You can just see there is a special camaraderie with the players and coaches. Special things are going to happen in our future, I firmly believe that.

Daniels has a chance to go down as one of the all-timers this year.

I wouldn't read into this stuff too much. 20 year old kids are not politicians, they don't plan out their answers or think twice about how they say things.
I agree about the 2o yr old part, but politicians think and plan?

Some things of interest:

Brimah has some nice shoulders....there's a body of work to throw some muscle on this cat

Coach Freeman - "I let him have this one..." .......has 12-13 years on him but Coach Free still has it

Leon does look like he's in real good shape, lost a lot of extra stuff even though it didn't seem he was bad at all....looks good let's see how it helps the young man

The pic of Rodney and Coach tells it all (as Mike said) and also the hug for Boat when he finished. Coach KO may not have won a lot of recruiting battles thus far but he will be a problem for the big schools from here on in after another successful season.

Starting to get the fever.......;)

The first quote doesn't bother me -- he wants to get to the League, fine, so should everyone who comes to UConn. Neither does the first half of the second quote -- that's just practical, in order for him to get attention and individual success, the team needs to do well.

Telling his teammates what they need to do so that he can get to the NBA has to rub them the wrong way. Or at least it rubs me the wrong way. Maybe he just said it poorly.

This is bullzhit. Boat's success and the team's success are aligned. If Boat has a great year, it will mean that he has made progress as a point guard, and his teammates and team will benefit from that as much as he will.

Where are the results / times??

Was this a covert run this year? Usually some fanfare before the run??

All of the top seven there look to have a high degree of fitness and Bazz looks strong and cut.
Should bode well for the season!

Here's a plot of first / last times from my database from '07. Could have earlier times somewhere. Wonder if there is correlation to win % buried in there somewhere?

...

well that didn't work too well. Anyone know how to paste an Excel graph in here?
