Updated Mock Draft (Wasserman)

I think he has a track record as an elite shooter going back to high school, and when you add in his free throw % and eye test on his shot form the 35% can be overlooked. This is turning out to be kind of a weak draft class outside of the top two- my hunch is if Liam was shooting 40%+ from three, he would be in the mix starting at #3.
This is considered one of the strongest draft classes in a long time, not sure where you are getting that view beyond personal opinion.

Not sure who he’s down on between Ace Bailey and Dylan Harper

You don't think a shooting percentage drop as a bigger focus in an offense impacts stock? It's a lot easier to shoot open threes when you're a 4-5 option in an offense. Great shooters in the NBA shoot the 3 over 40% at the NBA line. If you're coming in and your primary skills is a shooter, how you shoot when the defense is focusing on you likely matters at least a little.

The combine drill didn't have defenders, Alex is really good at shooting wide open as it gives him plenty of time to square and load.
The way defenses are playing him didn’t affect him for the first part of the season but then all of a sudden he couldn’t handle it? Its not like his slump was him getting more difficult shots he was just missing good looks.

You really think nba scouts opinion of the type of shooter karaban is has changed over the last couple of months?

RE the combine, I mean maybe they’re just doing shooting drills to kill time but he had arguably the best shooting performance of anyone last year…so maybe scouts will consider that in trying to understand how good of a shooter he is

My guess is Alex is to.
At this point Alex is fully mature and developed at the collegiate level. Another year, as a senior, even with better overall stats won’t help his draft stock much.. He is who he is at this point and better for him to start his next chapter now.
Financial Services agent?

So basically what you're saying is that he walked into this season with an established floor with no downside risk, only value upside. Now that's a deal I'd take. I'm not sure I agree. I also think NBA teams would have serious question marks regarding his shooting form under stress, which has shown to be a bit of an issue. He's not going to be taking a bunch of wide open jumpers in the NBA.

Possible 5-out rotations with Alex at 4 and Reibe at 5 would be awesome.

No bad choice for Alex: would love to have him back, but would be amazing to see him in the league next year too.
He’ll make more money in nil.

.-.
This is a good debate. McNeeley is a top 10 pick. He is a wing player and oerfext for modern nba.

Kid isn't Flagg, but he is going to score a lot of points in the nba.

As far as Karaban. He is showing that he can contribute when he isn't shooting well. He's show an versatile game and his 3-point struggles couldnb chalked up to variance and maybe a mechanical issue.

No one seriously thinks he isn't a good shooter.

To me, he’s Baylor Scheirman, good player, good skills, not good enough athletically to play right away. That Karaban end of round one to
Middle of Round 2.

I don't know if he should come out. He also
Might not want to do the college thing anymore .

Not to get the same NIL deals he'd have at UConn, no
Not saying it would be the same. But he could supplement G League money. He’d still have some endorsement value locally.

Maybe, but not significantly. And we should want those endorsement deals to be going to UConn players anyway

Draft people have started saying that they expected it to be, but that it has fallen off and that nobody likes any of the players from like 4-15.

Maybe thinking Solo being back next year isn't such a safe thought anymore. btw, Karaban is listed at #49.

Be a great landing spot in Cleveland for AK. If that is anywhere near accurate, coming back really hurt him.

If he’s #17 he’s gone?

Hurley has discussed how good Ball will be next year. Hope he’s back or we could be losing every starter off a meh team

1000%. He won’t be #17 though, lol
Who puts this mock together anyway? It looks like a grid kept by a kid in hs. 17th for Solo would really be something. I'm guessing he at least tests the process.

Agreed

I want to see a lineup of Adams-Ball-Mullins-Karaban-Reibe, (5) 3 point shooters for specific stints.

Preferably a BIG PG that can dribble / penetrate to create kick outs

Bro has Boogie Fland 6th, I'm not taking this mock seriously.
It has to be one of the worst mocks I've ever seen in any year. All I needed to see was Jaland Love in 1st round to know it's a total joke.

If the Spurs have 9 and 11 and Liam is available, he will be a teammate of Steph. The Spurs front office loves UConn and this is another match made in heaven.
Knicks= Nova
Spurs = UConn
Works for me.

.-.
If you have Alex coming back with Reed and Reibe at center why would we need another big body? Where would he play? I think we would be fine at PF/C but need more athletic, Tall wings and PG in the 6'4"-6'7" range.
Hoping Singare comes back, and ready to contribute. It looked to me, in the short spurts we saw him, that he might be getting close to that level. Love his attitude.

Potential not production
Of the site? Yeah I guess it has potential based on the url but it’s production in terms of valid mocks that are close to what actually happens is lacking

Of the player, his ranking is based on potential not production.

Flagg is not considering coming back to Duke, just like Liam will not be coming back to UConn. Liam is a lottery pick and Dan Hurley will pack his bags for him and forge his signature on the NBA early entry paperwork if needed, he's gone. Alex will have a legitimate decision to make and NIL will play a factor there
I hope Liam has a wonderful tournament. He has shot poorly and had a very difficult time guarding players.
