It's kind of funny - there is really no bracket you can make that won't make UConn fans say 'they did that for a reason' or 'those are teams we don't want to face' or 'those are teams we'd love to face.' The bottom line is there are good teams and bad teams in any bracket. The reason nobody wins the million bucks is because there are as many people who think we would beat Cuse as wouldn't want to face them.
More importantly, there is no bracket you can design where there is not some history that some major team is going to have with UConn (thanks to our high level of success). Put is in a bracket with Duke, there's a story. Put us in a bracket with Syracuse, there's a story. Put us in a bracket with UK, now there's a story. Not that they'll make it, but put us in a bracket with Washington, there's a story. Gonzaga, Pitt, Georgetown, Texas, Mich St, UCLA - there's a story.
I challenge anyone to make a reasonable bracket in terms of seeds where you can get everyone to say they want that bracket or one without a special story that people will say the NCAA did that on purpose.
It's part of being one of the 5 best programs over 20 years. Don't hate on that - embrace it - enjoy it. We have entered that realm.
