Pratt Street has always been one of my favorite streets in Hartford. I used to spend time at No Fish Today, Lord Jim's and Vaughan's before the first two closed. I was there last November before a UConn Men's hockey game using the tables near Vaughan's. And I agree it was a good way to spend some time before a game. But I grew up in Hartford so I have no issues with spending time there.
Lord Jim's, huh? What was that? 1995 or so?

Yup. I worked in 242 Trumbull from 1993 until 1996 and Lord Jim's was our go to place before games. We went from work to Lord Jim's to the HCC without even going outside. Kept our chances of getting shot in Hartford way down. ;)

I was on the other side at city place and went via the overpass to Margaritas for free chips for dinner. Same lack of exposure and bullets here too.

Yep....in the mid>late 90's. We would be at Lord Jim's before games hangin' with Mayor Mike. We did a good job of knocking beers off the "beer club" list... Then we'd double time it down the escalator to Wendy's to get a burger and fries before the game. Wendy's was ready. They had almost all the registers going. They did good business those game nights.

LOL. Take a look in the window of any Hartford city bus. All you'll see is the doom and depression of the people forced to take it. And I'm not sure anyone's hopping on the bus with their date to go from Capital Grille to anywhere that's not in walking distance.
Get proven wrong with facts, change the subject. Fun.

A pool?! And 2 bowling lanes?! Where do I sign up?

No snarky comment on the fact that you continue to complain about a lack of development that is literally being blocked by the courts?

I worked in Hartford from the late 90s to 2007 or so. I know that Lord Jim's was open at least until 2000 as we watched the NCAA games there in 2000. Chrissy was one of the bartenders there at the time. I worked at 280 Trumbull and had to go outside for a short stretch but then used the sidewalk bridges to go to HCC and Aetna

I was cheering hard for Joe Black’s. The owner was a good guy who previously worked at Tigin and Temple Bar in Stamford.

So you can’t just admit you’re wrong to continuously criticize the lack of development that is literally not possible because of litigation?

In all fairness, the rest of the development has been put on hold. Also, there have been issues with the proposed supermarket. From what I understand, parents were complaining because a supermarket was too close to a school. It’s too bad because this would’ve cut down on the food desert in that area.

That’s not my problem. I don’t care how or why there’s no development. End of the day? There’s no development.

There’s a saying that goes “don’t tell me about the labor pains. Just show me the baby”

I can’t believe you just said Lord Jim’s. I was throwing back beers there before I was 21 in like 2002. What a throw back. Always thought the 2nd floor bar was a cool one.

That says a lot about you. And none of it is positive.

If you’re following along and have seen deepster’s latest reply you’ll see he isn’t interested in fairness.
