It makes me wonder if there is another university out there that has won 3 national championships in the same scholastic year? I'm not even sure how to Google something like that, but if anyone out there is great with stats, I'd love to know. I'm thinking that we might be the first to ever do it...

I don't know the exact numbers but I think Rutgers has beaten us like once in our last twenty meetings. Maybe they can make a sign about that

Unfortunately it's been done numerous time. Just off the top of my head I know Maryland, Stanford and UNC have done it. I'm sure UCLA has done it at some point, too

Could you give me an example of one of those? In other words, which sports did Maryland win and in what year?

Maryland - mens soccer '05, womens bball '06, women's field hockey '05+'06 (i forget if field hockey is spring or fall, but they won both years anyways)
UNC - mens bball '09, womens soccer '08, women's field hockey '09
stanford - they do it just about every year because of the non-revenue sports (http://champions.stanford.edu/history/stanfords-national-championships/)

my brother went to maryland and they did it the year after he graduated, and unc did it just before I moved into chapel hill so i had to hear about it way too often...

you can just punch in 'whatever school' national championships and then look on wikipedia to see all of them for a given school
