Both Vandy & Michigan are pretty well this year. I expect it to be a nail biter game. My loyalty is with Shea/Vandy. Should be a great game to watch..
They've had solid teams and have won some big games in recent years. Why is it hard to play in Morgantown? Average attendance is 3,618 so it’s not the massive hostile crowds. Maybe it’s the Mountaineer that’s shoots off a musket before the game? Upperclass players at UConn never told freshmen about him before visiting Morgantown the first time and it always scared the bejeezus out of the first time visitors. (To the great amusement of the upperclassmen) Other than him, I’m not sure what’s so scary about playing at WVU

I agree WVU is a solid top 25ish team but I don’t see how a 5 point win at Morgantown relates to Texas Tech being a top 10 team. Their strength of schedule is 63, btw, so I would say their current ranking is pretty generousThey've had solid teams and have won some big games in recent years.
I met the mountaineer (obviously an earlier version) at some game. I haven't been to the Morgantown location so it must've been when I went to the game in Hartford. I believe he was there but I don't think he fires the musket at away games. I didn't know about the tradition of upperclassman not telling freshman about him. I love it!Why is it hard to play in Morgantown? Average attendance is 3,618 so it’s not the massive hostile crowds. Maybe it’s the Mountaineer that’s shoots off a musket before the game? Tamika Williams told one of the reporters that story. She thought it was hilarious (so do I!)I met the mountaineer (obviously an earlier version) at some game. Didn't say they were. Merely acknowledging that winning @ Baylor and @ West Virginia is a really big step for a program that has been down for a long time.I agree WVU is a solid top 25ish team but I don’t see how a 5 point win at Morgantown relates to Texas Tech being a top 10 team. Those are “ok” wins but not something to be completely ga-ga about. Gurlich is 15-0 vs Quad 4 teams…go look at her Massey or Warrn Nolan numbers. What irks me even more is the rumor she had a $5 mil NIL budget this year (thank you Patrick and Brittany Mahomes). She has a rough next 3 games at BYU, At Utah and vs TCU so we can get a better feel for her coaching acumenDidn't say they were. The game in November was part of a tournament and did not count as a conference game. I see an upcoming game w/ LSU @ Texas (Feb. 5th).In the SEC for some reason SC and TX play home and home and ended 1-1
Pardon me but you do not get to lecture UConn fans for not supporting your opinion. This is the UConn side of the Boneyard and if UConn fans feel that beating up a bunch of lower level teams isn’t impressive, they’re allowed to say without fans of other teams shaking their finger at them.Would it really be that painful for some of you to give just a tiny bit of credit to Texas Tech?
They haven't won more than 6 conference games since the 2012-13 season. They are already at 6 now, in mid January. I really don't care about NET, SOS, or any other formulas. They have undergone a dramatic improvement from recent years, that was not expected. They did not get an influx of highly touted transfers or Freshmen.
What is the criteria for this map? Is it fan base? Media coverage? Student population? Obviously, Vanderbilt takes up more than 80% of the map area, and I'm just wondering where the gold and black distribution comes from. Obviously, there could have been a little gold circle around the southeast, with blue surrounding the circle. I know it's a fictious map, but someone came up with the distribution ratio.
As someone else pointed out, SCar/Texas on Thanksgiving was a neutral site, nonconference game and does not count in the SEC Standings,Just something to think about with the 'big 4' conferences.
Big 12 has 16 teams, they play 18 conference games which means they play only 3 conference teams home and home.
ACC has 18 teams, play 18 conference games with only one home and home.
Big Ten has 18, play 18, with 1 HaH
SEC has 16, play 16, with 1 HaH
Comparison: Big East 11 teams, play 20, HaH with all teams.
What this means is the big 4 conference schedules are very unbalanced - most of the good teams only play each other once, and where that game is has a big impact on who will be favored. In the SEC for some reason SC and TX play home and home and ended 1-1, while the third highly touted team LSU ends up play both TX and SC at home. The size of the conferences also means there is a lot of deadwood in the conference schedule as well - some of it familiar to Uconn fans from both the old big east and the American.
NB - the Old Big East also had an unbalanced schedule and both Rutgers and ND as well as a few others complained when Uconn appeared on their schedule twice as it generally meant 2 losses that lowered both their conference record and their NCAA seeding.
You might want to add the Contidents of Africa and South America to UConn’s side.
Same type of game. MI was down 19 and came back with a furious 2nd half rally only to lose, with a missed shot at the buzzer.I kinda of feel sorry for Michigan, they just lost to Vandy 72-69 and also lost by the same score to UConn 72-69 both games were on neutral court
Not quite yet.Now there is only 1 unbeaten in women's college basketball.
UCONN HUSKIES
Once again it’s time to quote The Highlander:103-74 SC, now there's only one undefeated team, UConn. Time to change the map!
