Undefeated Question

Did any of the previous undefeated teams beat the 2nd, 3rd and 4th ranked teams in their undefeated runs? Just curious if that has been done before.

#6 Tennessee (rank is final poll; were #2 the second time the teams played)
#2 Oklahoma
#8 La Tech
#4 Vanderbilt (#3 when they played)

2008-09
#2 Louisville (3 times)

2009-10
#2 Stanford
#3 Oklahoma
#6 Duke

Can't find the rankings from 1995, but I doubt UConn played #2, 3, 4 that year.

Not sure, but the 2009 UConn team kicked the crap out of Louisville three times, Stanford once (and a better Stanford team than was fielded this year), and OU once. That was the Final Four in 2009. The only team that you might have included in the top four was an overrated Maryland squad.

UConn beat every other Final Four team in 2010 as well.


Although not undefeated, UConn in 2000 beat five of the other seven teams in the Elite Eight.

Can't find the rankings from 1995, but I doubt UConn played #2, 3, 4 that year.

AP final top 4 were UConn, Tennessee, Stanford, and Georgia. So they got at least 2 of the 3, but didn't play Georgia. UConn did start a home and home with Georgia the following season.
