I think it’s safe to say the MAC conference will not be picking up the contract of the UMass announcing team.
They shouldn’t. Not counting the CBSSports games called in ‘22 by that female basketball announcer, that may have been the most poorly called college football game I’ve ever seen. It’s one thing to be promoting the agenda of the athletic department that hires you, but I’ve never seen a crew unable to get the name of the teams right, or figure out who a penalty was called on, that consistently.

Or the yardage that the play stopped on

I know it’s a silly point after a nice win to cap an 8-4 regular season, but Gresh is awful. I don’t know what was worse….his constant yammering with his annoying voice, or his mistake after mistake? He didn’t seem to know which team was which...which player was which…etc..

CBSSN does a better job than ESPN+…but I did enjoy using the spilit screen option at times.
ESPN plus is a website, not a network. They buy the rights and provide a platform for teams and conferences to air their games. That game isn’t produced or announced by ESPN. The hiring is all done by the home team’s athletic department.

I didn’t see Evers on the sidelines during the game. Did anyone see him at the game?
Didn’t the broadcast show both QBs (Fagnano and Evers) warming up before the game?

8-4 is an incredible accomplishment especially looking back the start of the season versus Maryland. Hope the boys feel great, they have a reason to celebrate.

But we really haven't played a clean, smart game this year. Today they could have run UMess out of the stadium. But sloppy play, dumb penalties, drops, etc, almost ruined the day. That we won today shows the talent of the guys.

Don't know where the bowl is, but if it's not on Christmas, I'll see you there. Go Huskies.
I think you UMass played a good game. Their offense was Actually pretty impressive. I don’t know maybe I’m of the age where I’m seeing the good in all things, but I think both teams played well and ended like it should have.

Didn't have espn+, didn't bother with radio. Switched back and forth between Boneyard chat and Stat link from UConn website. Cumbersome but effective. You guys were great, occasionally short on detail but from what I heard, better than the UMass announcers. Thanks for getting me through it.

Posted earlier, awesome year of progress. Only non competitive in MD game, 3 coulda shoulda wouldas with Duke, WF and Cuse along with a potpourri of blowouts and close ones with "inferior" opponents. More than got the job done.

Bowl win, NIL, and recruit your butts off! Go Huskies.

She had no idea what she was doing and she did every home game. It almost became enjoyable by the end of the season just because it was so bad.

Was there even 10k at the game? Poor turnout for a team going 8-4 first time since Fiesta bowl year.
It was a miserable day. Cold, windy and a 2-9 team that has no conference, no bowl and no permanent head coach. The school is on break. The stadium is god awful.

I give credit to those who attended - both teams.

It was entertaining no doubt.

How could you forget that FIU game in ‘22. The broadcast was so bad you needed to watch it with eclipse glasses.
That was by far the worst broadcasting experience I've seen around UConn football. Today's announcers or the issues with the 2022 announcers don't even compare to the unwatchability of that amateurish broadcast. The cameras often pointed at nothing in particular, the image quality was poor, the color was off... it almost felt like we were being trolled. It was like an SNL sketch about a high-school AV club summoned to cover the Super Bowl due to some contrived emergency.

I’m confounded as to why our D has been getting progressively worse. Maybe we have become too predictable. Our pass rush has been generally poor all year, the cover hit or miss, but the vulnerability to the run seems to be getting worse by the game.

Wow. That sounds painful at best. I would rather not watch it then deal with that... You are hereby nominated for fan of the year for that.

I will take the win. I was worried about the UMass offense. Not a pretty win, but a win none the less. 8-4 is a good season, especially when the first game was terrible. 8-3 after Maryland loss, all three loses to P4 schools, and all 3 were respectable games. Probably should have won 1 or 2 of them.
