For the most part the offense played well. 47 points is pretty decent, I’d say.

The defense did not play particularly well but they showed up with some big stops especially in Q3.

Thankfully they don’t give points for style.

8-4 sounds really nice. Let’s go get #9.

I predicted a 7-5 season and they are 8-4. Was it always pristine and pretty? No, but this season resuscitates hope after a decade-plus of mostly losing football where UConn was listed in the Bottom 10 list week after week and year after year.

Good job Huskies, let's go bowling in the short term and for the long term let's build on this season instead of following with a bad season.
 
I think the close win with UMass may hurt our ranking and limit options for bowls. They could have at least prevented last TD by UMass.

My take… First off, we won, that’s all that’s important. Tip of the hat to UMass, we‘ve been there before… They were impressive for a team that just fired coach - nothing to play for - that offense!

As I reflect on the season, we only had 1 game - our first - that wasn’t entertaining as heck to watch. Not just for us but opposing fans as well.

Why we don’t get more calls to join football conferences is beyond me….

Regardless of bowl game, this was such a fun year to be a Husky fan!
 
I know it’s a silly point after a nice win to cap an 8-4 regular season, but Gresh is awful. I don’t know what was worse….his constant yammering with his annoying voice, or his mistake after mistake? He didn’t seem to know which team was which...which player was which…etc..

CBSSN does a better job than ESPN+…but I did enjoy using the spilit screen option at times.

They started out decent but must have been hitting the egg nog hard as they went way off course with calling the game and whining about the penalties. In fairness, think they knew this was it for their broadcasting together - tough day!
 
I will give Mora credit..his teams fight until the end. They may not always execute well, but they play hard.

The first half was frustrating because one UMass TD was a result of the Fagnano bad INT. Another UMass TD was a result of MacDonald’s 2 facemask penalties. Can’t get down on him..he has been amazing this year…but those calls gave away 7 points. I was also frustrated that their 50% passing qb was passing at 80% in the first half. Bell’s drops also were a buzz kill.

But…things calmed down in the second half as the D get tighter. I was still disappointed the D couldn’t get one turnnover versus 3 freshman QBs. But the running game took over and put the game away.

Freeman has been amazing this year…the O line played a great game…I would give Fagnano a C.

Congrats to the team and coaches on a great year! On to the bowl game!

And this is why ss much as the UMess nickname sucks, sometimes it's accurate.

8-4 is an incredible accomplishment especially looking back the start of the season versus Maryland. Hope the boys feel great, they have a reason to celebrate.

But we really haven't played a clean, smart game this year. Today they could have run UMess out of the stadium. But sloppy play, dumb penalties, drops, etc, almost ruined the day. That we won today shows the talent of the guys.

Don't know where the bowl is, but if it's not on Christmas, I'll see you there. Go Huskies.

They shouldn’t. Not counting the CBSSports games called in ‘22 by that female basketball announcer, that may have been the most poorly called college football game I’ve ever seen. It’s one thing to be promoting the agenda of the athletic department that hires you, but I’ve never seen a crew unable to get the name of the teams right, or figure out who a penalty was called on, that consistently.
