UMass > MAC for all sports in 2025-2026

The only hope they have is to win in football the way Boise State did and in hoops to win the way Gonzaga did/does. Barring that, no one up here will care

Oh such reasonable goals

They should do some type of giveaway where first prize would be a weekend in Amherst. Second prize would be two weekends in Amherst.
Look the sports outside of hockey are terrible but Amherst is a lovely area to visit.

Spring, summer and fall are great but why ruin a nice visit there to see MAC basketball in the middle of winter? It’s hilarious that someone actually is trying to sell this 🤣

Miami (OH) has a couple of large banners up in Westfarms Mall in West Hartford, I happened to notice. I wonder if that is related to recent CR moves. The banner reads "Miami University of Ohio - The original Public Ivy" Not a bad approach if the programs are going to be playing in New England throughout the year.

The Ohio Bobcats won their 7th Bowl Game in a row, the second longest streak in the nation, by defeating UNLV last night. The Bobcats have won 40 games in the last 4 years, more than any other MAC school over the same period. Toledo is second at 36.

Maybe we shoulda hired the Ohio coach, oh wait, never mind.

Guessing TheJunkyard is referencing the gfed vid. He did step into Rutgers' stadium and The RAC (now Jersey Mike's Arena). The hallways were filled with empty trophy cases and asked if Rutgers was expecting to be winning more.

1. Embrace that which makes you unique. The Junkyard
2. A winnable game vs local competition bringing fans to the yard
3. Leo Meehan is a Stonehill grad and CEO of W.B. Mason. Perhaps trying to get in his good graces for some donations. The W.B. Mason Stadium only cost $4 million so I am not sure about helping out McGuirk

That is very interesting. As a UMass employee, there is a strong push to purchase from W.B.Mason even for products and services you wouldn’t think they supply.

Hey I guess the storied UMass basketball program is too good for the MAC.

What a disaster this whole enterprise is. How does their AD still have a job?

Not as embarrassing as the NIL Collective attacking Curry Hicks Sage of all people

Some believe that a good UMass AD is good for UConn. Should go the way of BC and Holy Cross.

It would just be nice to play to nearby school where there is history in competitive meaningful games. UMass BB needed Calipari to be their Calhoun. They backed the wrong horse.
