Uggh!!!!

A UConn player is the best player in their franchise history btw. I do wish we’d appreciate that a bit more.

Since Bouknight, they have different owners, different president, different president of basketball ops/gm, different head coach, different analytics lead, different vp bo, different assistant gm, different director of Sports Medicine, different director of Athletic Performance, different Head Athletic Trainer.
All true and yet they lost even more games last season. Going all in on LaMelo Ball is a major mistake in my opinion. He's very talented but immature and always hurt. I don't know if it was his dad training them as if they were NBA players since they were little kids or what but those guys have broken down bodies.

Charlotte definitely is a dumpster fire with horrible coaches, trainers, medical staff, management etc. Anyway you can mismanage an NBA franchise they do it. However for McNeeley this could potentially work in his favor. If he is disciplined and can develop on his own in that void of development that is Charlotte, he might get more playing time then he would elsewhere. It’s is almost guaranteed that atleast 1 of whoever Charlotte plans to start next year will have some issue and there will be an opening..
Kemba was as good as it gets and he wasted his career there. I dont see much success for Liam not only in Charlotte but in the league. Where you go has a lot other do with your success unless youre one of those cant miss prospects which Liam is far from.

Liam got drafted #29 because the scouts saw what everyone saw. An overrated player who would have benefited from another year in Storrs. Instead, after a disappointing showing overall, he bolts for the NBA shortly after UConn gave Florida everything they could handle in the NCAAs and lost in the very end, partly due to his inadequate play. Very disappointed in Liam and will never look at him as a great Husky.

And player enhancement coach Kemba Walker!

I... kinda like Charlotte's young core now.

LaMelo Ball is only 23 years old. Kon at the 2. McNeeley and Miller on the wings. Bridges is a piece of but only 27 somehow.

They traded Mark Williams, so now they need to get an 'on timeline' center (after having like 3 recently and now all gone), but I can see them contending in the East pretty quickly.
Donovan?

I think thats a bit harsh. Kid clearly wasnt the same after the injury and missed valuable time that wouldve helped his development. I dont get mad about any kid leaving early and i suggest you not take it so hard because if you do you may want to follow a different sport.

I'm not taking it hard, just telling the truth.

I'm actually a UConn grad back in Corny Thompsons day and a huge fan who wasn't throwing the entire team under the bus like so many of you experts when things weren't going well. I assume everyone is entitled to their opinion and that's my opinion on Liam McNeeley.

That's ok, he never thought much of you as a fan...

So do my NY Jets. Should I make my plane reservations for Super Bowl weekend now?

Liam had a great year for a freshman. He single handedly carried UConn to several victories last year. Remember when he scored 30+ points in a game …. as a freshman. All players go through slumps. Unfortunately for Liam His slump was and the end of the season. Getting drafted 29th is pretty good. Kyle Flipkowski from Duke who was a top 3 prospect coming out of high school got drafted in second round last year.

Any time a player can get drafted in first round they need to take that opportunity. Liam now has a lot of guaranteed money and a shot to follow his dream in NBA. I don’t understand why you wouldn’t be happy for him.

He’s probably disappointed in you as a fan

You must understand that in Corny Thompson’s day, even the all-NBA level players weren’t making on average what Liam was just guaranteed by getting drafted 29th. Those guys would have left in a second if they had the same opportunity as Liam this year.

Who are you and why are you here?
Interesting question. Here are his first three posts.

The question comes down to: what is more attractive as an NBA prospect - an inefficient 15 PPG freshman or an efficient 10-12 PPG sophomore? Looking at our roster next year, it should be assumed that Liam will take less shots due to an overall improved offense (less bailout situations for him)

Based on the lottery picks last week that came from a US college, I'm inclined to say 15 PPG freshman. Lots of freshmen, and lots of high scorers on that list. Liam fell further than I think everyone including him expected, but I'm not convinced he's a sure fire lottery pick next year if he comes back since there's just less shots available

I'm not looking for people to like me but again I'm assuming I'm allowed an opinion.

This was me predicting he was coming to UConn. I was very happy he choose us.

Don’t apologize. That’s your take. Stand by it. I don’t disagree his time at UConn was a disappointment. Other than the Creighton game (which everyone leans on) he didn’t play like a first round draft pick for much of the season. Injury or no injury.
