Uggh!!!!

Charlotte definitely is a dumpster fire with horrible coaches, trainers, medical staff, management etc. Anyway you can mismanage an NBA franchise they do it. However for McNeeley this could potentially work in his favor. If he is disciplined and can develop on his own in that void of development that is Charlotte, he might get more playing time then he would elsewhere. It’s is almost guaranteed that atleast 1 of whoever Charlotte plans to start next year will have some issue and there will be an opening..
Since Bouknight, they have different owners, different president, different president of basketball ops/gm, different head coach, different analytics lead, different vp bo, different assistant gm, different director of Sports Medicine, different director of Athletic Performance, different Head Athletic Trainer.

I don’t think the new trainers and medical staff are any better. Mark Williams was their future star center, and was listed as doubtful for a full season with no updates, or any insight on his problems. Then they traded him, but he failed the physical, apparently Lakers doctors saw something Charlotte doctors either missed or were trying to cover up. Lamelo Ball is frequently out with various injuries and again they have no idea on how serious it is or they just lie on their injury reports as a 2 week injury lingers on to 3 and then 4 and then eventually shutdown for the season.
Every season they tank and they are not getting any good players out of that. Ball has only played 22, 36, and 47 games over the past 3 seasons since getting that monster contract. None of the players look like they want to be there. They have a culture of losing. The players just want to pad their stats enough and hope to get traded.

O.K. I apologize to you @Iluvsuebird. It wasn't you who said mid 2nd round. It was @IllinoisHuskie. Of course he deleted the post after a bunch of us told him he was wrong. But please come back @IllinoisHuskie and tell us all you were wrong.

The new medical staff was literally hired 4 days ago. It's not the same as the last 3 years.

A UConn player is the best player in their franchise history btw. I do wish we’d appreciate that a bit more.

All true and yet they lost even more games last season. Going all in on LaMelo Ball is a major mistake in my opinion. He's very talented but immature and always hurt. I don't know if it was his dad training them as if they were NBA players since they were little kids or what but those guys have broken down bodies.

Kemba was as good as it gets and he wasted his career there. I dont see much success for Liam not only in Charlotte but in the league. Where you go has a lot other do with your success unless youre one of those cant miss prospects which Liam is far from.

Liam got drafted #29 because the scouts saw what everyone saw. An overrated player who would have benefited from another year in Storrs. Instead, after a disappointing showing overall, he bolts for the NBA shortly after UConn gave Florida everything they could handle in the NCAAs and lost in the very end, partly due to his inadequate play. Very disappointed in Liam and will never look at him as a great Husky.

And player enhancement coach Kemba Walker!

Who are you and why are you here?

I... kinda like Charlotte's young core now.

LaMelo Ball is only 23 years old. Kon at the 2. McNeeley and Miller on the wings. Bridges is a piece of but only 27 somehow.

They traded Mark Williams, so now they need to get an 'on timeline' center (after having like 3 recently and now all gone), but I can see them contending in the East pretty quickly.
Donovan?

I think thats a bit harsh. Kid clearly wasnt the same after the injury and missed valuable time that wouldve helped his development. I dont get mad about any kid leaving early and i suggest you not take it so hard because if you do you may want to follow a different sport.

I'm not taking it hard, just telling the truth.

I'm actually a UConn grad back in Corny Thompsons day and a huge fan who wasn't throwing the entire team under the bus like so many of you experts when things weren't going well. I assume everyone is entitled to their opinion and that's my opinion on Liam McNeeley.

That's ok, he never thought much of you as a fan...

So do my NY Jets. Should I make my plane reservations for Super Bowl weekend now?
