I know this has been mentioned here and there today but how do you think this affects our standing with hill? I would love to have them both obviously but with the potential to have boatright back for his senior year alongside purvis, omar, samuel, hamilton it seems things could get cluttered with playing time. Even if hamilton plays the wing we need to get another pg which only clutters things further (if we were to get hill)

I honestly think Boatright is gone after this year. Losing both he and Shabazz will sting less with Purvis ready to suit up the following year. But I do wonder if the unknown of Ryan's leaving will give the kids we are recruiting a pause till the end of the 2013-2014 season.

2015 recruit Dorsey had 23 in 32 minutes. DM was 9-10 from the FT line with 9 boards to go with his 25 points

Why? Players like that the guys who precede them are leaving early for the NBA, they want to be part of an NBA factory; and they like that playing time is opening up for them. They want to make their own mark.

IMO it is pretty delusional to think Boatright will be NBA ready come this time next year.

I don't think it's delusional if you have been keeping up with his quotes and what he has been saying. I do think 4 years would suit him best, but I think he is really going to push trying to leave after this year. If he has any opportunity I think he will take it. We'll see.

Studs who can play will get big minutes. They know that.

I agree with Mike......He won't be ready......But he will be watching his close boys Shabazz and probably DD leave after next year.... IF he really considered leaving early this year like the reports said than he probably thinks and believes he will be ready by next year. If we can load up on some of these other guys ala Hill, Black, Oubre, McLaughlin, Chukwu, Carrington, Gant, Abu, Peak, Chiozza based on the fact that we have another extra slot open, then it might be a blessing in disguise for him to leave early.

If you think about it there is more of a probability of high end top talent coming to us with more scholarships open because they are all competing on a level playing field. Where as if Boatright sticks around they know he is getting 30+ mins at a guard spot a game. With no Boatright they all believe that there is an equal chance to grab minutes and earn time.
