A convincing win!!! congratulations. You guys need to schedule BC 2 times a year. Fans like and will follow a winner.UConn 13-3 over BC...now 4-5....defense was just GREAT!
UMass/Liberty/Army to end the season. Uhh...7-5 goes bowling. 6-6...Maybe?
Looked like a great crowd!
Are UMass/Liberty/Army any good? (I don't follow football, even if it is UConn.)UConn 13-3 over BC...now 4-5....defense was just GREAT!

UMass and Army are not. Both of those games are very winnable. Liberty is a strong team, just barely outside a top 25 ranking. Are UMass/Liberty/Army any good? (I don't follow football, even if it is UConn.)
13 I think.Don’t know how many times UConn has played BC in football through the years, but the win today is the first ever for the Huskies over the Eagles!!!!
A win against the school that prevented UConn from joining a Power Five Conference must be pretty sweet.Don’t know how many times UConn has played BC in football through the years, but the win today is the first ever for the Huskies over the Eagles!!!!
The win over BC was UConn’s first win over a P5 program in 6 years, the last being a 13-10 win over UVA in 2016.Beating a P-5 school has to be satisfying given the difference in money an ACC school gets from their tv football revenue sharing.
15, including yesterday.Don’t know how many times UConn has played BC in football through the years, but the win today is the first ever for the Huskies over the Eagles!!!!
I know that was a joke, but for the benefit of people who may not be familiar with the circumstances, the quality of football was never what kept us out of the P5. Geography and institutional protectionism were the most significant issues. Remember, UConn football was pretty good out of the gate when we stepped up to FBS football, winning two Big East championships and getting invited to the Fiesta Bowl. We have victories over Notre Dame, SEC teams, Big Ten teams and were selling out Rentschler field. That said, a healthy football program certainly doesn’t hurt our prospects.Maybe now, we can get invited to a P5.
Not for the Big Money boys. You gotta get your attendance numbers up and keep them there. SEC and Big = 50,000 seats minimum and history of solid attendance.Maybe now, we can get invited to a P5.
UConn does have a way bigger TV market than most of the P5 schools. Not for the Big Money boys. You gotta get your attendance numbers up and keep them there. SEC and Big = 50,000 seats minimum and history of solid attendance.
ACC is gonna wait on Notre Dame for eternity.
Big 12? Lotta travel for your “minor sports but maybe doable with WBA and Cincy not too far. How do you help them increase their TV contract value.
PAC? Just too much travel.
But what percent of that market watches NCAA football - much less UConn football ( but cf Rutgers)UConn does have a way bigger TV market than most of the P5 schools.
2 benefits come to mind about where UConn football finds itself right now. First, being an independent they get to play some real interesting schools that may view an independent as being a relatively easy D1 victory. Second, you can sit anywhere at the Rent. I went to the CCSU game and despite the fact that CCSU brought a lot of fans (are they closer to the Rent than what Storrs is?) there were plenty of very good empty seats.I know that was a joke, but for the benefit of people who may not be familiar with the circumstances, the quality of football was never what kept us out of the P5. We will likely remain independent until the ACC either loses someone or expands. They have a GOR in place through 2036, so I wouldn’t expect any changes at least until 2030.
In the meantime, UConn is having a fun run as it climbs out of the seller of college football. Home games are broadcast on CBSSN. People should take a look. Although there aren’t many opportunities left this season, if you get a chance to go see a game at Rentschler field, I think you will enjoy it. There, literally, is not a bad seat in the stadium. The tickets are very affordable, for the time being, and the tailgating experience is a blast.
True, but the stadium looked pretty full for the BC game, especially the lower bowl.2 benefits come to mind about where UConn football finds itself right now. Agree.. Army is a tough out because of their wing-bone (option) offense.Army away is a possible but improbable win.
The Wing-Bone is always a pain in the behind to defend. But Army football is not what it used to be back when they would face teams like ND every season. Army has significantly downgraded their schedule playing basically mid-major FBS teams as well as several FCS teams (Villanova & Colgate). Army has lost 3 games to mid-major teams: Coastal Carolina, UTSA and Georgia St. If UConn is disciplined on defense the Huskies should win this one.Agree.. Defensive discipline is a must. Harder to prepare for.
Will likely mean a need for a big scoring day from UCONN's offense to keep up.
