UConn WBB announces tip times, TV designations

Any ideas on Peacock access
Good question lol. I know that I don't have "peacock" . Looks like 7 games will be on that station.

They just want us to spend money now to watch the games. Just like that ridiculous Flo Sports with their amateurish broadcast.

Why must some people ruin everything. I really liked SNY and thought their pregame and post game shows were excellent. It's a shame.

PEACOCK is a streaming service basically for NBC Universal TV. It also has standalone programming, which I think the 7 UConn regular season games and the BE Tournament will be part of.
I really don't think that the broadcasts will be amateurish because they currently broadcast the NFL, B1G sports, Olympic sports and these seem to be fine broadcasts.
As usual, you will need a device to stream. This could be a Smart TV, Roku or Amazon Firestick, to name a couple.

They have multiple payment plans, currently starting at $9.99 month.

I have no idea if they are the type of subscription that allows you to sign up for the basketball season and then pause until the next season. We have been subscribed for a couple of years now.

So 7 games on Peacock that we will need to stream at $10 bucks per month (perhaps only during basketball season which is certainly not a big deal but perhaps for an entire year (which will be determined for sure once you sign up but like most things in the streaming category there will be gotchas that need to be read carefully in the fine print).

This must be the way of the future and the way UConn wants it. Did they have a choice?

This may have been covered previously and if so, please bear with me: What exactly does the Big East conference and specifically UConn get out of having games streaming on Peacock because it certainly is not for UConn fans' benefit whatsoever. I would hope that streaming on Peaccock and other streaming services is financially beneficial and more so than having UConn games covered by SNY. Is the resulting $ to UConn available for the poor fan/alums to see or is it wrapped into a hundred other things and therefore essentially unknown?

From the UConn app
I get a lot of streaming services already.
It'll be glitzy and well produced but it's the people that make it good. We'll see. I like ESPN overall. The women in the studio do a great job

Hi, IF you have Xfinity Internet, check is Peacock is included with your package. If it is log into your Xfinity account>check Peacock> it will give you a link to activate your service. Then you should be able to add Peacock to your streaming device. Unless you already have that Flex or Xumo device… ugh.. I have one but I never use it. I renewed my Internet today and they said I already had Pecock active. So it should work. Peacock in itself is not a bad service. It does have all the NBC stuff including BIG10, Big East,ND football, Olympics and other stuff. Also, the Big East Women’s BB tournament will be on Fox, FS1.
I think the same with the men. Fox sports, FS1. Such a brave new world we live in…

The BE Tournaments are on Peacock.
From this link:

"NBC Sports will also present all 10 2026 Big East Women’s Tournament games live on Peacock from March 6-9 from Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Conn."

Same for the men.

Great… hopefully we will be able to watch it on NBC Sports if you have it on your TV service. I have You Tube TV. It has local NBC network and NBC Boston.

5 different broadcast platforms in their first 8 games. Yuck. Does anyone else think there are going to be a ton of complaints? I miss CPTV more every year.

My only complaint is that the BC exhibition game is on a regional sports network (NBC Sports Boston) and therefore a very limited viewing area (I don't live in New England, so...).
I will have to break out the Roku to watch the second exhibition game that will be on UConn+. I use an Xbox S for streaming and the last I checked, UConn+ wasn't available in the Microsoft Store. All the others are available to me either on Hulu Live or via the MS app. 🙂
End of my complaint.

The irony of this all is one of the primary reasons UConn left the AAC was to have all of their games broadcast on linear TV instead of ESPN+, who had the rights to the AAC games on the upcoming contract renewal at the time. I don't miss the AAC but here we are a few years later and the competition for women's basketball in the Big East isn't any better than what it was in the AAC and you need to get multiple streaming services to see all of the games instead of just ESPN+, which more people probably have access to than Peacock.

Advertisers love streaming because its not dvr-able and you can't fast forward thru the inane repetive commercials.
I probably can guess the answer but here goes anyway: Does Peacock or any streaming service offer an option of course for an upcharge to pay more and eliminate commercials like they do on some of the music apps like Spotify?

Yes, $10.99/month with commercials (premium package, which includes sports), $16.99/month without commercials.
