SH is much more than a variable. She's the "closer." The right coach will be sold by her vision for the University, and her ability to sell that vision. Much will depend on what SH can reveal about her future plans and their impact on the Athletic Department; specifically football.

I am concerned that she will get pushed out or will leave out of frustration due to the recent controversy. She is critical to our long term goals and has a vision that far exceeds that of any predecessor by light years. She needs to be locked in so she can finish the job before she goes anywhere. I want to see a 600 million endowment, a top 10 public U ranking and a P5 conference affiliation before she goes anywhere.

Those are good write-ups, thanks for posting. Lembo's states that his passing attack features many screens and quick passes, that's perfect for Casey, and our somewhat limited pass protection.

In the limited times I've seen Lembo coach, I loved his offensive gameplaning. Very diverse, sets things up nicely, difficult to predict. He's no "inside handoff x 3" playcaller. In the UVA game they took a lead into the 4th. Had the ball on their end of the field, sucked the right corner in and then threw a deep ball to ice the game. I think everyone in the stadium (myself included) thought they'd run some time off the clock. Instead they put the final nail in the coffin. He's the anti-Edsall.

That's what I like about him. Plus he will turn things around pretty quickly I think as opposed to some guys who will want to tear things down and rebuild from scratch. I like Clawson, too but he'll be a tear down and rebuild guy I think.

I remember at halftime of the bowl game in Charlotte (where we were up 10-0), all of us were in the corner as the WF team walked underneath us back to the locker room. We all had our arms up in the shape of a 0 and we were laughing and making fun of them. I wondered after that whether or not it was a good idea, given the fact that we were completely shut down in the 2nd half.

I don't think you understand the recruiting ratings. BC is ranked 36 on Rivals right now because they have 23 recruits. The only school rated below them with more recruits is Western Michigan. Schools like UCLA, Nebraska, USC, and Washington are currently rated below BC because they only have about half as many recruits right now as BC. When the final recruiting ratings are in, BC will have a recruiting class at about 50 or higher.

The number of slots avail for recruits each year is a factor, which ebbs and flows, but it must remain under the NCAA cap total. One year you may have 20-30 something slots avail versus another year where you may be only able to sign 17-20. Class rankings are also about the quality of the recruits which will vary according each given recruiting site service. The point being that it is much better to end up in the top half of the rankings than bottom half..... 60 and lower out of 126 programs.

It is even more impressive when your program recruits in the 80's one year and cuts that in half or thereabouts the very next year moving up into the 30-40's or even 50. Thats hard to do in the fickle world of recruiting, where the perception of a school plays such a large part in the minds of these young men. Any coach who can pull that off in his first year has set the foundation for success for future classes...... and helps to establish or re-establishing broken pipe lines to talent. I would take 30's 40's or even 50 any day of the week because it is moving in the right direction which is up.

Say what you like about Daz and his staff, but they have done a lot of damage control, re-stablished ties to schools in Mass with (7) recruits, and expanded the recruiting grounds into the South picking up (6). The other 10 are from the North East, Mid Atlantic, and Mid West. Pretty balanced if you ask me. They have worked hard from day one, bringing a much needed boost of energy and pride back to the program. U Conn can do the same with a good hire of a young coach that exudes passion and fire for recruiting and coaching. Small steps first, onto a brisk walk, then a jog and a short sprint, finally it becomes a marathon for the long term success of the program.

BC had a low rated recruiting class last year, primarily due to the low number of signed recruits. Daz decided when he was hired to not sign more recruits for 2013 and to focus on 2014 recruiting instead. Mission accomplished.

My main point was that BC's recruiting class is rated higher than it will end up as they have a high number of commitments. If you look at history, Daz is recruiting about in line with BC's history.

For a guy that hates his recruiting disadvantage, he is doing a pretty good job. Rivals has BC at #35 and ESPN has them at #38 for his first recruiting class. BTW, where do you get that he hates it at BC?

Distance does not play a factor for most recruits. If it did, would Uconn have successfully recruited Alabama, FL, PA, etc. the way they did in the past (PP years excepted)? If your kid is getting a full ride, most parents figure out a way to get a lot of the games. If you ever go to a distant away game, you will see this first hand.

There have been rumors about him not liking his situation at BC, and that he might be interested in UCONN. That being said, I don't think he's right for UCONN, but hey what do I know. He could turn out to be a great find for UCONN football. One thing I do know is that his mentor is Paul Pasqualoni.

I can tell you that he's not afraid to stir some things up at BC. My company has a contract that touches the athletic department and we have an exec that sits on their board of trustees. He had the stones to ask to switch to one of our competitors.
