Still 4-1 lead early in the 3rd period.

Both WTIC and WHUS are carrying tonight's game. WHUS usually doesn't carry the games that WTIC picks up. But as usual when both WHUS and WTIC both have a hockey broadcast, Alex Giner doesn't do the broadcast on WHUS. I'm guessing Giner must help out on the WTIC broadcasts, but I have no idea what that might be.

Spencer Naas scores on the rebound for his second goal of the game late in the third period. Nyberg and Letunov get assists on the play. 5-1 UConn.

Another goal by Naas.

Win 5-1. Great win. Much needed 2 pts. Overall great game by UConn. Finished periods and scored plenty.

Great win. It’s been awhile since they played that well at home.
Huska has a pretty easy night and the team was outworking Vermont all game.
I guess my next question is is the state done showing up for the games? Maybe 3k announced and 2k actually there.
Attendance for the BU game sucked as well

Really played well last night. Aggressive, quick to the puck. Passed well. I haven’t seen them look that good in a long while.

Any idea if season tix sales dropped dramatically for UConn hockey this year? I just don't get it.

It could be that October and early November is just too early for people to be thinking about college hockey. We'll just have to see if attendance picks up as the season progresses. At any rate, UConn has a bunch of home games in November.

Ticket prices have gone up every year since UConn has joined hockey east.

ST prices in 14/15 15/16 16/17 17-18 have increased each yr or have stayed about the same, but regular tickets online or box office have gone up every year. Especially for top-tier games.

14-15 ST were $15 each for all games
15-16 ST were $15 each for all games
16-17 ST were $15 each for all games
17-18 ST range
$12 / $17 / $19 depending on ST seat

Day of box office and online were way more.

Plus, the addition of the FIT fee for facilities, the $5-10 order charge and the $2 to print your ticket is making people stay home.

Not the best record the past seasons or schedule is also a factor.

All the seniors on this team, I hope people come back.

I really see this team ranked sometime during the season.

I have ST so I don't really know the changes from yr to yr for online, but today's game for example.

$23 for a ticket
$4 ticket fee (I think this is FIT)
$3 order charge
$2 delivery charge

$32 to go today....

Plus, remember to throw in a charge for parking in downtown Hartford.

I just checked ticket prices for one of the Ohio State game. For two tickets, a total of $49. UConn ice hockey may have started as a cheap night out a couple of years ago, but it no longer is.

Just for comparison purposes, does anyone have an idea of how much it cost to see a game at other Hockey East schools?

I paid $21.85 for @ UMass
I paid $25 for @ ND
I paid $37.20 for @ Barclays(ND)
I paid $28 for @ BU
I paid $20 for @ PC
I paid $10 for @ BC

So I think UConn is a charging a little too much. XL rent costs don't help.

The only thing more guaranteed than a UConn defensive football player missing a tackle, is the hockey team following up a great win with a lackluster poor effort. Never fails.
