This Daily Campus article has a few possibilities for a starting pitcher for todays game. Don't know if this is speculation from the author, or he got this from talking to the coaching staff:

<The pitching staff has played a pivotal role in limiting the opposition on a game-by-game basis. Given that the Huskies are coming off a four-game series and playing in their first midweek game of the year, the starting pitcher will be someone the team uses as a long reliever. Righty Thomas Ellisen is the only pitcher who has not made at least two starts, and although he allowed three unearned runs in two innings on Saturday, the redshirt freshman strikes out hitters in bunches.

If he does not take the bump, then expect either Michael Quigley or Jude Abbadessa to get the nod for the first time in a UConn uniform.>

According to the stat webpage for the game against UMass, Garrett Coe is the starting pitcher for UConn today. Not a huge surprise considering he did not pitch in a game this past weekend.
 
One thing to keep in mind for these home games and nearby road games is that players who have not traveled with the team could possibly get some playing time.

UMass pitch has 2 HBP’s and a walk, and had only recorded one out. Let’s jump on them.

Disappointing ending there with two meek popups. 1-0 UConn going to the second.
 
Bottom 1st, 2 hit by pitches load the bases with 1 out, but that is it for the UConn offense that inning. 1-0 UConn.

Coe is doing an awesome job of throwing strikes. If you can do that in the midweek, you are going to win some games.
 
Bottom 2nd, after a double play, Smith hits a 2 out double, but he is left on base. 1-0 UConn. Smith's offense looks to be on the upswing of late.

Top 4th, Coe with a scoreless inning, which ends on a double play that has an interference call at 2B. Daniels shaken up on the play but stays in the game for now. Coe faces the minimum. 2-0 UConn.
 
Chris Jones was talking about possible rain on Saturday, so there could be a doubleheader during the series against Rutgers this weekend, maybe on Friday. We'll see what happens.
 
Bottom 4th, Smith steals 2B with 1 out, Freeberger with an rbi single drives in 2 more runs, 5-0 UConn with 1 out. UConn loads the bases with 2 out, but that is it for the UConn offense that inning. 5-0 UConn.
