UConn is 19-0 over the ACC in the last five years, per a CT newspaper. Pretty impressive.

it's because they play no defense in the ACC...

still, all joking aside, quite impressive. i wonder how many of those were top 10 or top 5 at the time we played them...

Amazing to think back to 2006 when the ACC had both participants in the national championship game and three of the four F4 teams. Now the league has had significant difficulty even staging competitive contests with UConn. I realize UConn is better now, but still.

I think we are in first place in the ACC. :)

Eric is right--we play offense AND defense.

When Ivory Latta came to town and the Heels embarassed us, it was a sign that we needed to get more athletic. I think Kalana was our only player back then who could match up with UNC. Now we have an athletic edge over just about every team. Tina, Maya, Tiffany, et al. are great players in the athletic mold. Diamond will continue and possibly up that, hopefully in Storrs. Moriah certainly will.

Some of it's improved athleticism on UConn's team, but some of its just a question of effort. Caroline Doty isn't a great athlete anymore- hell, she's playing on one leg. But that block from behind last night was all heart and determination. Every possession, every loose ball, every rebound, UConn is just going to try to out-work you. And the Huskies ate usually successful.

Yep, Geno takes them to very good restaurants, so they ate successful. ;)

Here you go. Rankings are at the time game was played:

11/25/07- #8 Duke, 74-48
12/5/07- Virginia, 75-45
1/21/08- #4 UNC, 82-71
11/16/08- Georgia Tech, 82-71
12/21/08- Florida State. 83-71
1/19/09- #2 UNC, 88-58
11/29/09- Clemson, 87-48
12/2809/- #11 Florida State, 78-59
1/9/10- #7 UNC, 88-47
1/18/10- #7 Duke, 81-48
3/30/10- FSU (Elite 8), 90-50
11/21/10- Georgia Tech, 71-51
12/21/10- #20 Florida State, 93-62
1/17/11- #11 UNC, 83-57
1/31/11- #3 Duke, 87-51
3/29/11- Duke (Elite 8), 75-40
1/16/12- #21 UNC, 86-35
1/30/12- #5 Duke, 61-45

Edit- that's 18-0. I must be missing one.
Edit #2- The paper must be referring to the Sweet 16 matchup 3/24/07 against NC State, which UConn won 78-71.

The last loss by UConn to an ACC team was an 82-76 defeat at the hands of then-#2 UNC in Chapel Hill.

Harsh but perhaps correct. I'll still take her over 98.8% of the D1 players in the country. Her name will never be on the Wall of Honor but she may well leave Storrs with 3 (or 4) NC rings. Her guts, drive, and spirit will keep 'Philly Girl' in the fans' hearts for a long time.

Nineteen consecutive is quite impressive, and over half ranked. Very sweet.

UConn is 39-13 overall against the ACC; Most of those 13 losses probably coming before and during the first 10 years of the Auriemma Era.

I think so, based on some comments from the game broadcast at Cuse. I think Geno was talking about not missing playing up there at all, for reasons he did not go into.

Like John Adams said---"You want to know your strengths? Play in the SEC." "You want to know your weaknesses? Play UCONN".
.
That was Samuel Adams talkin'

Caroline may not get an individual plaque, but she will be on the Wall of Honor as a member of the NC teams (whenever those plaques may be unveiled). So, she will get some well-deserved Gampel recognition, in addition to the warm memories in our hearts....love that kid.

I'm assuming ChicagoGG meant that they'll honor the 2009 and 2010 teams at some point.
