So what do we do in the 9th? Come back with Meyers who has been great or turn to Finn who struggled last game but is our closer.

Meyers has done very well so far, so I think he should stay in to start the bottom of the 9th.

Top 9th, the UConn offense goes down in order with 2 strikeouts. 4-2 UConn.

The other week I said I didn't fully trust Meyers in late game situations yet. Any doubts are gone now, very impressed by Paxton today!! Back end of the pen is taking shape nicely

This team could be a difficult 3 or 4 seed because we have many pitchers who can give us length. We need to hit if we want to play in the postseason, though.

Watching ESPN is brutal
To be clear, all ESPN does is provide the platform. ODU is responsible for every aspect of the production. That having been said, I have never seen a sporting event at any level so unable to follow a contest. Community television in Fairfield did a far better job of televising my son’s high school basketball games a dozen years ago. I turned off the television and just listened to Chris Jones.

I’ll jump around a bit here.

The stadium is a disaster with the construction. Probably impacting the camera angles etc. Late game fog was an issue as well with the field. But you folks saying the production wasn’t great, so add that into the mix.

Shaw was warm(ing) in the 8 and 9 incase Paxton got into trouble. He didn’t and away we go.

Penders mid game substitutions paid off. Well done by the guys who delivered when called upon.

Tomorrow’s weather doesn’t look favorable. Dbl header today? Seen nothing announced but the security guards said announce it day of some times so we’ll see.

Top 1st, after a lead off walk by Rispoli, the UConn offense had a scoreless inning. No score.

Bottom 1st, Suchy gives up a 1 out double, followed by a triple driving in a run. 1-0 ODU.

A fielders choice grounder brings in a run and puts a runner on 1B with 1 out. 2-0 ODU.

Another single puts 2 runners on base with 1 out. With 2 out a wild pitch moves both runners into scoring position. A strikeout ends the inning. 2-0 ODU.

Lucky to get out of that with only two scoring. Watching Marsh throw that ball home did not instill confidence.

Bottom 2nd, after a lead off single in which the runner is thrown out trying to reach 2B on the play, Suchy has a scoreless inning. 2-1 ODU.

Top 3rd, Righi draws a lead off walk. Taylor follows with a no out double that drives in a run. Game tied at 2.

Rispoli follows with a no out RBI single. 3-2 UConn.

With 1 out Rispoli steals 2B, and he moves to 3B on a throwing error on the play. He is left on base.
