Going to my first UConn hockey game since about 1984, when several of us went from our dorm to Freitas open air to see someone from our floor play. Quite an upgrade, even if it's XL.
Go Huskies.

3-0 Huskies to finish the 1st! Why can’t we play like this all the time?

It seems the stars have to be perfectly aligned for UConn to play like this. Enjoy it while you can.

Northeastern power play goal makes it 3-1 UConn late in the 2nd period.

HUSKA. Gotta hang tough. He has been terrific. That kid is great.

Great WIN! 1-8 now suckers!!!

41-12 for goals over 9 games now

1st time UConn has won 3 in a row since 2016 12/9 - 12/31 (2 of those games were DHC trophy wins)

Last year, we had high hopes after that tourney and those wins.

Let's keep it going @ UMass on Friday. Road trip and stop over at OG wings over.

Great ranked win. 1st of the year

Crowd was small but into it. Going up 3 goals after 1 helps.
Outshot, but made the most of their opportunities. That Huska is A good one. It won't be 30+ years between games ongoing. Good time, disciplined squad.

Some clown was going around advertising that Keith Primeau himself was gong to be there. Just because the guy's son is playing on the opposing team does NOT automatically mean he's going to be there himself.

Just to be nit-picky, the Eero Saarinen designed roof was never called Freitas. Alum Freitas gave the money to build the current on-campus building, although the ice I believe is still from the old barn with new boards.

Reminds me when Robbie Ftorek was coaching the Albany River Rats at the time his son was playing for St. Anselm. They came down to play under the old roof and Robbie sat right next to me with his family. Talked to him about hockey all game long. Really nice guy.

Great game, horrible attendance. Where have all the fans gone???????
I was there, but was a bit dismayed to see many of the tickets in my section just go unused. At least give them to some one who will use them.

I've been harping on this. Give your tickets away if you're not using them! I am sure there is a record of which paid-for tickets go unused. UConn should write to those who rarely or never use their tickets and ask the owners to donate them back to UConn for distribution to kids, community groups or students. This would help fill the seats and be a "win-win" situation.

Their attendance would be higher if they played on campus in a new building. I know of a few students who don't want to travel all the way to Hartford and I honestly don't blame them.
