I just found out I cannot go today unfortunately. I’ve got two free tickets. Sec. 115. DM me and I’ll transfer them. Just want them used.

The story so far…

Vermont wins it in OT on the power play. Very good game played by both squads. UConn had some quality chances but couldn’t get it passed the VT goaltender. Really good college hockey game. UConn will have another chance tomorrow. Go Huskies!!!!

Yeah actually it wasn’t.

Not that worried in that a young team learns a lesson but there’s absolutely no sugarcoating losing to a winless team.

Vermont played like the bad team they are.

Weird one. Not a lot happened. Felt
Like the second game of a back to back.

Terrible call by the Zebra in OT. It was either a no call or they both go.

We did well and carried the play. It's a shame to lose on a crap call. Having said that, the ice at XL Center sucks! We were losing edges and the puck travel was uneven. There were wet spots until the 4 minute mark. The reno can't come soon enough.

Friend of mine is in the loop with Hockey East administration. He says the consensus is XL Center’s ice is the worst in the league. I was there too, today. Players were falling like dominoes. Embarrassing.

All credit to Vermont’s goalie. He was an impregnable fortress.

I said the same thing... between the 70 & 80 degree days this week and the XLs old refrigeration system the ice seemed terrible.

They had a chance to fix it correctly, but they went for the bandaid approach. Great decision by some unknown bureaucrat...

Solution? Schedule the XL games in January & February.

Oops….that might conflict with the Wolfpack, UConn men’s and women’s basketball, Disney-on-Ice, Monster Trucks, B-level concerts, or anything else that trumps UConn hockey.

Looked like a definite hold- he gets him super early and just doesn’t let go.
