Funny that we talk about lack of power and yet the clean up hitter O'Neill it was mentioned was enrolled at UConn back in 2013. He is hitting .333 with 13 HRs. Wonder what his story was?

Midweek pitching has 11 strikeouts, 0 walks, and has only given up 3 runs to a decent team.

Time for a new hitting coach?

I'm for it. Has one player showed improvement as the year has progressed? Everybody seems to be going backwards.

UConn graduated four solid hitters in Melley, DeRoche-Duffin, Sundberg, and Daniello last year. With the exception of Prato, the newcomers to the lineup have come nowhere near in matching their production. UConn needs Winkel and company to improve drastically for next season.

This team requires other team's to make mistakes in order to score. That's a difficult way to win.

Ha... totally distracted on a conference call last inning and half and missed comeback. Free (painful) baseball;)

I don't remember him @ all...

>>The road to being one of the top bats in the Atlantic 10 is a long and winding one for O’Neil. Originally from East Longmeadow, Massachusetts, O’Neil was a top prosper in the Northeast and had committed to play college baseball at the University of Connecticut following his high school career. After not appearing in any Huskie starts in his freshman season in 2013, O’Neil decided to transfer and play for the Rhode Island Rams.<<

Russell in. Good move, we need to win this game. I'd leave him in through tge 12th.

Our catching has been much better :)

According to Chris Jones, UConn catchers did not throw out a base steeler in 29 attempts, they have now followed that throwing out 5 in a row.

I remember seeing O'Neil on a list of UConn recruits at the time, and reading something positive about him. 2013 was probably the last season UConn baseball had a fall ball roster posted on the website, and O'Neil was on it. I think I have a copy of it buried somewhere. By the time the spring season roster rolled around, he was nowhere to be found. At the time, UConn had infielders such as Mazzilli, Verdi, Siena, and Daniello, so that may be a reason why he didn't stick around.

We either stare at a called strike 3 or swing at a ball way out of the zone.

Smart move giving Alex the green light. We showed fight today, I was wrong to doubt them.

With that said, URI's slim at large chances are dead and they lost this more than we won it. They have to win their conference tour now.
