Friday game moved up to 1:00 p.m.

UCF Series Notes: Connecticut Chills (not sure they have the match-ups correct unless they know something we don't - Feole/Gardner Friday/Saturday w/ Sunday TBA)

Drat, I was looking forward to listening to part of the Friday game on the way home from work. With Friday game time moved up to 1pm, that won't happen unless the game gets delayed or it goes long.

Looks like we'll have to wait for tomorrow to find out from Chris Jones about what is happening with Tim Cate. That's assuming the snow is melted in Storrs by then.

Okay then...

If it wasn't still so cold out, my wife would probably want to take our German Shepherd to the game. She has taken the dog to a few "Bark in the Park" events at Connecticut Tigers games, and the weird part about it is our dog will actually watch some of the game.

Chris Jones says Tim Cate has tightness in his forearm. With that they didn't want to pitch him in this cold weather. Depending on how he progresses he may or may not be back next week, but he could be out for 2 or three weeks. We'll have to see. Most likely Jeff Kersten will start tomorrow.

Top 1st inning, Mason Feole gives up a 2 out bases loaded walk to make it 1-0 for UCF.

Feole strikes out the next batter to end the inning. Still, it did not sound like he had good control to start the game.

UCF is also having difficulty throwing strikes. Have to make them pay here.

Bases loaded, 2 out.

Stefanski flies out to center field to end the threat in the bottom of the 1st.

Top 2nd, USF has runners on 1st and 2nd with no out (a Fedko error let the 2nd runner on), and Feole has thrown over 45 pitches so far this game.

Feole gets 3 strikeouts in the top of the 2nd inning, but a Woodworth error on a stolen base attempt allows a run for Central Florida. 2-0 UCF. Doesn't look like Feole will last long this game given all the pitches he has thrown so far.
