Thanks for the update, not sure which sport, hockey or baseball is harder to get information.
UConn baseball would be a lot more difficult if it weren't for the efforts of Chris Jones and his radio broadcasts of the games and the various interviews he does. At any rate, in any of the college Olympic sports you really have to be on your toes and pay attention to stay informed.

Chris and UConn’s social media accounts are heads and tail above any mainstream coverage.

Shawn McGrath from the UConn Blog is also a wealth of info and a must follow after Chris Jones/UConn.

Huskies Win Series vs. No. 22 UCF with Sunday Sweep

Notes:
  • The Huskies move to 7-2 all-time against the Knights at J.O. Christian Field. The Huskies have won all three series that UCF has played in Storrs.
  • Anthony Prato went 7-13 in the series against the Knights with four runs scored, two RBIs and a stolen base.
  • The 8:30 a.m. start time for game one of the doubleheader was the earliest start for the Huskies in the Jim Penders era (2004-present) and possibly the earliest start time in program history.
  • Zac Susi reached base in both games and has extended his reach base streak to 18 games.

Should also add that Jim Penders and his staff seem to be very forthcoming about providing information that helps to publicize the program, and no doubt that helps Chris Jones provide all the information that he does. The baseball coaching staff are often interview subjects. Penders is doing his best not to operate the program in secret, despite the lack of interest of the mainstream media. This is in direct contrast to someone like Ray Reid, who often seems to want to run the men's soccer program as some sort of secret society. Try getting an injury report out of Ray Reid sometime, I'm sure John Tuite will tell you it is difficult at best.

Change in plans:

This probably increases the chances of Colby Dunlop or possibly even Jeff Kersten getting the Bryant start on Wednesday after their work in today's game.

You guys are a tough crowd. It couldn't have been above freezing when the game started, probablynot above 35 or so now, and you're bashing baseball players for fielding? Florida players? And upset that we don't have lights on the field? So that we could play games 10 degrees colder at night?

Sheesh. There is a reason that northern programs aren't spending the money on college baseball that southern programs are.

No, the reason we want lights is that we can complete games that are started during the day. I expect that with a lighted field, we would see a few 6pm games, especially in late April through May. But most games would still be played in the daylight hours. Along with a turf field, it would give the baseball program more flexibility in getting games in.

Also we're, like, a big time program.

Big time programs have lights.

That's just the way it is.

Jim Penders interview after the Sunday doubleheader with UCF, remarking on a really crazy weekend. He's very effusive in his praise for the players collective attitude and fight, plus the general performance of the pitchers on Sunday. Chase Gardner gets a special credit, and he also notes that none of the relief pitchers allowed an inherited run to score when they came into the game. That these pitchers who shut the door when they came in with runners on base included Rossomando and Holmes has to be considered a positive for the bullpen.
