Going to add that no 1 or 2 seed would want anything to do with us in the ncaa tournament if we do get in. For all this team'so comical inconsistency, they are very clearly dangerous.

END 8: #UConn 15, UCF 8
Huskies send 15 (!) batters to the plate, scoring nine times to take a seven-run lead into the T9. #BleedBlue

2 quick outs in the top of the 9th, and a runner got to 3rd on a balk. This would make 4 wins in a row and cause the ECU disaster to be a distant memory

Jesus 16 hits and 15 runs are a damn good way to counteract 3 errors, nice.

Following this game today, the pitchers really had a rough one early on. Seem to really struggle with control at times. Not sure if Susi had a really tough game or the pitchers were just easy to steal on, but they were running all over Susi today and he made a couple of errors. Funny thing is LeFevre came in late and actually threw a runner out. Don't know what it is about this team falling way behind but boy do they show resilience and battle back and the good thing is it appears the bats may be heating up at just the right time of year. And it really is great to see Hill really stretching 3 or 4 good hitting games in a row together. Hopefully it will carry over to post season. Would love to see them complete the sweep tomorrow. Just hope they come out of the gates a little more focused and handle business early.

Hill has almost made it to a .2oo batting average, which isn't bad considering he was around .130 not all that long ago. I'm hoping the uptick in Aaron Hill's hitting will also carry on to next season. Hill has had two straight years at UConn where he started the season in awful slumps. Last season his lack of hitting early in the season led to his benching with Willy Yahn replacing him in the starting lineup. The strange thing about his poor hitting is that Hill has performed well with the bat away from the collegiate baseball season. He has always hit well in the summer collegiate baseball leagues. Prior to the start of the last two seasons I recall that Coach Penders has talked in interviews about how impressed he has been with Hill's play during the fall ball seasons at UConn. Due to Hill's success with the bat at other times of the year, I've been hoping that these college season slumps of his are rather extreme aberrations, and that his bat would eventually come around.

UConn baseball is back on WHUS after a one day hiatus. All is right in the world.

Through 3 innings Montgomerie is doing well with his start. No hits, 5 strikeouts, 1 walk.

DeRoche-Duffin is not the only hot hitter in the UConn lineup. Tyler Gnesda's bat has come alive after what seemed to be an eternity of a slump. Gnesda double scores Toppa, and a LeFevre single allows Gnesda to score as well. 3-0 UConn with the Huskies still at bat in the bottom of the 3rd.

What's that - 3 times bases have been left loaded through 4 innings?

Some awful pitching and defense has given uconn a ton of opportunities today. Sadly, the offense died quite a bit. 3 0 uconn going into the 6th, some insurance runs in the bottom of the inning would be nice.

This might be Montgomerie's best start of the season. 6 innings, 2 hits, 2 walks, 8 strikeouts, and no real big offensive threats for UCF.

The first two UCF batters get on base in the top of the 7th, and Montgomerie exits the game. The new pitcher is Devin Over.

In deep trouble now. Need bullpen to somehow hold them to 2 runs until the 9th.

Over allows a wild pitch, but retires the side in order without allowing a run to score. Still 3-0 UConn going to the bottom of the 7th.

Top 9, still 3 0. Not much offense today, hopefully Pat shuts them down.
