I agree his only setback is that he doesn't really have a position at the next level. But he is on an absolute tear right now.

Too little too late in regards to getting an at large bid, but that is two nice come behind wins in a row so we keep fighting. Frustrating that we kept losing close games to a really beatable ECU team.

It seems to me that DeRoche-Duffin is fairly similar to Blake Davey. Davey hit for a bit more average, and DeRoche-Duffin hits with a bit more power. Both have or had the same problem in that they don't really have a defensive position, and I suspect that is the big thing the scouts are looking for in the major league draft. I half expect that DeRoche-Duffin will have a similar undrafted fate that Davey had, but perhaps scouting minds could be changed if this late in the season hitting and power display continues.

Melley blasts his eighth HR of the season into the hedges in RF and it's now 8-6 in favor of UCF

8-6 ucf after a medley HR. Defense has been absolute garbage and our freshman pitchers seem to have worn out as this season has progressed. Offense has been way better recently so there is that.
