Interesting, Peters is the starting pitcher today for UConn. He has shown some good stuff of late, so no doubt that influenced the decision to give him the midweek start.
 
Bottom 1st, with no outs the UConn offense loads the bases. Minick follows with a no out single that drives in 2 runs, Minick reaches 2B on an error. 2-0 UConn.

Dougherty follows with a no out double that drives in 2 runs. 4-0 UConn. So far Rutgers has committed 2 errors this inning.

Root follows with a no out 2 run homer, 6-0 UConn.

Am I the only one who is sick of listening to analysts who just talk and talk and talk just to hear themselves talk and literally say nothing of value? “You know, that’s what you gotta do when you are behind…get hits and score runs”…really? ok. Thanks for that valuable insight.

Good job by Peters overall. Against top competition will need to find a way to get the ball down. Rutgers did him a lot of favors popping up pitches that were up and out of the zone.

Shaw gives up a no out walk that loads the bases again. A no out grand slam ties the game at 9.

Shaw comes out of the game, Hutchinson takes the mound.
