UConn v. Quinnipiac (1/2/18 @ XL @ 7p on ESPN3)

Never been up here.

Place is pretty nice.

Can't beat $2 beers and $5 apps

Good 100-200 people up here

.-.
Was admission still 30 walk up? I kinda wish I went to the game.

I think 29.50 or something online. Probably 32 walk-up

Too much, but decent crowd here.

Might be top 3 for games this season

I was thinking of buying a ticket when you posted that special @ $11. Stupid me.

For others: Quinnipiac leading in shots on goal, 20-16 at the end of the second. 10-10, 10-6.

Scoring has disappeared.

Shut out twice in the last 2 games

Long break has not helped

Cavanaugh's coaching seems to be producing an elitist mindset. Sacred Heart, ironically, plays with more heart.

They have no reason to feel elite....that was a piss poor performance. I actually left with 5 minutes remaining. First time ever. But I agree with you. Very disappointing start to the second half.

Worst power play effort I've ever seen. 3 v 5 and they burned it by just passing around the perimeter. The lack ofwell placed and on target shots was much worse than the number suggested.

Seems more and more that late November - early December solid play was a fluke... Coach Cav needs to come up with something fast. 8 - 13 - 2 doesn't cut it for a 5th year coach.

3,852. Looked like more than that.

PP has stunk the past 2 games while it was really good prior to break. Got like 1-2 shots off on that 5-3???

I agree way too much preimeter passing and not enough movement of defensemen for a shot. I know passing is supposed to get the D to move, but it almost like they're afraid to shoot. Get it on net, create a rebound/other movement for better opportunities.

Still pissed that Murray missed that obvious trip by goalie shortridge.

Should have been peppering them on the 5-3. When it was 1-0 I didn't see enough desperation in our play. They pepped up after it got to 2-0 but it was over at that point.

Could also be taking the puck to the net more; we had a lot of room last night to maneuver in front of QU's goal and instead we'd try to force a pass through a maze of legs/sticks..

I thought it was a flat effort and it extended to the crowd too. To much holiday partying I guess. Really poor flat performance.

Is it me or is Huska not quite living up to the hype? He is fine but seems very technical. No fire and never seems to steal one.

I found it very hard to get excited when the team clearly wasn’t. The blame for the crowd falls squarely on their shoulders. Give us something to cheer about. When you look like you don’t care, it’s hard for anyone else to care.

I agree. Crowd was almost more into the game than the Players

That's on the captain and coaches.

Read this article, and tell me why Pratt is the captain and not Johnny Austin??

Hockey Rookies Finding their Way On and Off the Ice

I would quote article, but busy and on my phone.

Austin has been a great mentor to incoming freshman especially Adam Karashik. (He is missed on D)

Pratt is also Senior Defenseman

If he was such a great captain, he would be mentioned and featured in article, not Austin.

I wasn’t implying it was the crowds fault. I thought the team was flat and that carried over.

Gotta get to some games. I have just been totally preoccupied elsewhere. But if this is not a blue collar team that hits, bumps, and grinds in the corners, goes to the net and takes abuse, I don't think I will like what I see. UConn will never be able to recruit enough skill players competing in HE to be able to abandon a blue collar style. Just like the old days when it was a given that if UConn didn't hit, they wouldn't win.
