UConn v Netherlands (Italy game #1)

Apparently the Dutch team does not have a Nike affiliation:

During the partial 3rd quarter which I've seen it appeared the Dutch team was wearing these.

The 6 players I would expect to play the most this year (+Nurse) ended up playing the most today. Kudos to Coombs for getting double-digit mins, though I'm sure some of that was helped by Nurse's absence.

From her stat line. Naphessa was an animal on the offensive boards. She may be poaching Gabby's job a bit. :D

Jump hook by Batouly.
Coombs getting a look at point guard.
The video was pretty grainy, but I could swear I saw AEH at the Point more than Coombs. Was I mistaken?

I didn't pay too much attention to AEH in today's game. I thought Coombs (#4) played point while in there. We'll know soon enough.

UConn sounds great, of course, against the Netherlands. As to Texas not having as good a game, it should be pointed out that none of the team's top 4 players even played --- Brooke McCarty, Lashann Higgs, Joyner Holmes (in suspension period), and Ariel Atkins (with the national team in Japan).

Well, missing the teams' top four players, the loss is understandable. Who will take Holmes place at the start of the season?
