Even if Kersten throws a solid six innings tomorrow, I expect that there will be plenty of bullpen work for Gardner, Wurster, Johnson, and company. Might even see Randy Polonia and Joe Simeone out of the pen tomorrow.
Caught the first few innings on the WHUS stream heading back from Storrs after picking up the youngest for break - rest of game was frustrating because I was out of pocket and picking game off Twitter and BY. These four game weekends are proving to be tough on the pitching staff, especially early in the season when teams such as UConn don't necessarily know which young pitchers they can trust. Still, these four game weekends do serve a purpose, as they do mimic the pile up of games that can take place in both conference tournaments and in the first weekend of the NCAA tournament, where a team can end up playing 5 or 6 games in a short period of time.
