Rebuilding year or not, terrible loss. Merrimack has been having an awful season and struggling to score all season.

There was a reason he was a backup at UNH.
 
UConn will get them tomorrow. UConn didn’t play that bad. They had a lot of zone time and had a good forecheck. Oh well, you’re not gonna win them all. Tomorrow’s a new day.

Trey Scott has been a pleasant surprise. I was not expecting him to take on such a big role this season.

I did think Carabin would have been much better. He has not been as good as advertised coming here as a 5th year from Princeton.
 
First game of the weekend: 1-4-1

2nd game of the weekend: 4-0-0
 
We win the stat sheet but lose the game. This is the first time Ive been disappointed in the team this season.
They didn’t seem to have the relentlessness and hustle we’ve seen all year. Bounce back tomorrow afternoon, we need 3 points!

See you tonight. Are we slipping into "Cav mediocrity" again? People say that this is a rebuilding year. Rebuilding from what - last year's mediocrity?

I don’t think so, this team really works hard and the kids really skates hard every shift. Also the kids really seem to like one another this year. I see a lot of positives.

We'll see - no doubt they work hard and are more hungry than last year. But, as the calendar turns to November our teams seem stop advancing adjustment wise. We need aggressive coaching to stay up with other teams that quickly evolve from the first weekend in October to Thanksgiving. We seem to get stuck development wise.

Love to see it improve but I rightfully have my doubts after a dozen years with Cavanaugh.
