Hockey East is just a gauntlet of a league this year. UConn is the weakest team in the league this year and ranked 42. That’s not too shabby.Hockey East has 6 teams in the top 11 of the Pairwise.

UConn isn't the weakest team, but they haven't had the best start which in a way is better than the 9-1-1 fools gold we saw last year. Their current position in the HE standings is respectable. What I see in this list is lots of opportunity to grab points from highly ranked teams according to pairwise and therefore make a climb upwards. Two losses to Holy Cross really messed with UConn's position tho..

Being ranked at 42 would not be too shabby in other college sports where there are hundreds of teams in the rankings. However, there are only about 64 teams in Division 1 men's college hockey this season.
