UConn v. Merrimack College @Rentschler Field (Saturday 9/7/24 @Noon). Game on WFSB-3/WWAX & Streaming on UConn+. Audio on Varsity App

I nearly had a panic attack. I see the tweet and see the words "Portal", "Bell", and "UConn" and thought "Dammit, we already lost a player to the portal after 1 game?!?!"

The game is on WFSB-3 (CBS) - not Fox61.

Still waiting for confirmation from the Game Notes on other media/streaming options (UConn+)
From the UConnhuskies.com website: The UConn football program announced that kick-off for their 2024 home opener against Merrimack on Saturday, September 7 is set for 12 noon with the game airing live on WFSB Channel 3 throughout Connecticut. The game will also be simulcast on WFSB's sister station, WWAX, as well as streamed online through UConn+.

UConn and WFSB Channel 3 begin year two of an exclusive media partnership in 2024-25. Last season's game against Sacred Heart also featured on WFSB and WWAX.

From WFSB.com: There are several ways you can watch The WAX. If you have cable TV, the easiest way is to just say “WAX TV” into you voice enabled remote control.

With an Over the Air Antenna – You will have to rescan your TV similar to how you did when you purchased your TV. Once complete, we are on Channel 27. You can also watch it on WFSB 3.4.
Comcast - Watch the Wax on Channel 931 and 1166.
Cox Cable – WWAX Channel 19 on all COX cable systems in Connecticut.
Altice Cable – Altice Cable has WWAX on Channel 113 in New Haven and Litchfield County and Channel 8 in Fairfield County.
Frontier- WWAX on Channel 27
Charter/Spectrum- Channel 795

Youtube tv seems to have it as well just search WAX, "the wax" ... says college sports during that time which I'm assuming is the game....

This is what I was hoping for

Anyone have any knowledge about the transfer Green. He was projected as a starter in our line? Has anyone said he is banged up?

Can anyone just go to uconnhuskies.com, click on UCONN+, and watch the game?

I think you may need to register, which is free. At least that's a vague recollection I have from last year. I downloaded the UConn+ app to my TV. That works well and is easy.

And you can watch other UConn sports as well. I was testing out the UConn+ app on my TV last night after the easy installation. I watched some volleyball last night. Joe D was one of the announcers.

It’s a well done, under-appreciated/under publicized product.

Weather looking less like rain. Would be great if 20k showed up for the game...Old Guy will be watching and reading all your comments after the game...Go Huskies.....My prediction is UC 31.....M10.....

Wish this game kicked off in the late afternoon or night. Team always seems sluggish to start these noon games. Crowd seems quieter too.

Hmmm if my memory serves me correct he is the guy that seemed to be moping on the sidelines the entire UMD game. That would make sense if that’s the case.

I think our ceiling for points Saturday is probably 17. And our D, touted as gangstas from the portal, was disastrous.
We may well lose to Merrimack.

Well that not good.

We may very well lose this Saturday, but capping our ceiling at 17 points is a little extreme. Our offense has been bad but has still put up 28 and 31 points against FCS teams the past two years. I'm not super optimistic about the offense, but even still, a steady diet of Edwards/Rosa + the talent advantage we have at WR should be enough to put more than 20 points up against a team like Merrimack

Frankly, I’m not worried about losing. I think we will win, and I hope it will be comfortably. Of course, we could lose, and we’ve had our share of struggles against FCS teams over the past decade. But I’m going to believe we are an improved team at this point. Last Saturday was bad, but I think (hope) we’ll see a much better all around team this week.

Our offensive line was the strength of the team against Maryland. They gave the QB reasonable pass protection and there were were holes produced in the zone blocking scheme. Merrimack should be an easier front to play. Add in the discovery of Bell last week and I see 30 points by the offense.

I'll be there tomorrow. Hoping for decent weather. I can typically only attend one game a year due to my work schedule, so please let us get a nice solid W!!! It's been a long time since I've seen a win in person.

Quick link <<

-> UConn will again be without defensive back and key player in the 3-3-5, Malik Dixon-Williams, who is still recovering from a broken hand. Defensive end Pryce Yates (concussion symptoms) is expected to be a game-time decision. Defensive back Rante Jones will miss the first half after being ejected for targeting on a hit on Maryland backup quarterback MJ Morris in the fourth quarter. <-
