I think our ceiling for points Saturday is probably 17. And our D, touted as gangstas from the portal, was disastrous.
We may well lose to Merrimack.

We may very well lose this Saturday, but capping our ceiling at 17 points is a little extreme. Our offense has been bad but has still put up 28 and 31 points against FCS teams the past two years. I'm not super optimistic about the offense, but even still, a steady diet of Edwards/Rosa + the talent advantage we have at WR should be enough to put more than 20 points up against a team like Merrimack
 
Frankly, I’m not worried about losing. I think we will win, and I hope it will be comfortably. Of course, we could lose, and we’ve had our share of struggles against FCS teams over the past decade. But I’m going to believe we are an improved team at this point. Last Saturday was bad, but I think (hope) we’ll see a much better all around team this week.

Our offensive line was the strength of the team against Maryland. They gave the QB reasonable pass protection and there were were holes produced in the zone blocking scheme. Merrimack should be an easier front to play. Add in the discovery of Bell last week and I see 30 points by the offense.
 
I'll be there tomorrow. Hoping for decent weather. I can typically only attend one game a year due to my work schedule, so please let us get a nice solid W!!! It's been a long time since I've seen a win in person.

I imagine there are still a number of ticket holders and UConn fans who do not have season tickets, who are trying to decide whether it is worth going to this game. That is surely understandable. But, perhaps, just perhaps, a decent crowd, say 20 thousand, and a victory could send a message to the coaches/athletes that football is important for the university and the state. This "old guy" can't go, but as a former UConn grad and fan of the sports program at UC I HOPE in the end a large number will decide to go, and give it one more shot to support the team. I just downloaded the Uconn+ app onto my Roku TV and tested it out. Field Hockey is currently on. I'm ready for tomorrows game.

I sprayed a mouthful of coffee all over my computer screen when I read your prediction of a 17 point ceiling against FCS Merrimack. Surely we can do much better than that! However, if you are right, we can put 0-12 in the book unless there is a massive improvement in the offense. I'll stick with my prediction of 42-16, Huskies.

I might give it a try if I can't figure out the "smart" TV. I know it worked last season.
