UConn v. Merrimack College @Rentschler Field (Saturday 9/7/24 @Noon). Game on WFSB-3/WWAX & Streaming on UConn+. Audio on Varsity App

I imagine there are still a number of ticket holders and UConn fans who do not have season tickets, who are trying to decide whether it is worth going to this game. That is surely understandable. But, perhaps, just perhaps, a decent crowd, say 20 thousand, and a victory could send a message to the coaches/athletes that football is important for the university and the state. This "old guy" can't go, but as a former UConn grad and fan of the sports program at UC I HOPE in the end a large number will decide to go, and give it one more shot to support the team. Thanks for all who post on the boneyard. GO HUSKIES!

I think you may need to register, which is free. At least that's a vague recollection I have from last year. I downloaded the UConn+ app to my TV. That works well and is easy.
I just downloaded the Uconn+ app onto my Roku TV and tested it out. Field Hockey is currently on. I'm ready for tomorrows game.

I think our ceiling for points Saturday is probably 17. And our D, touted as gangstas from the portal, was disastrous.
We may well lose to Merrimack.
I sprayed a mouthful of coffee all over my computer screen when I read your prediction of a 17 point ceiling against FCS Merrimack. Surely we can do much better than that! However, if you are right, we can put 0-12 in the book unless there is a massive improvement in the offense. I'll stick with my prediction of 42-16, Huskies.

Can't get the app to work on Amazon Fire, but it seems to work on my laptop.

You could always cast it from your laptop to your TV if you wanted.

I might give it a try if I can't figure out the "smart" TV. I know it worked last season.

As a last resort, you can always run a cable from your laptop to your TV and show it that way.

Let's goooooooooo!

Where can people watch on the Internet? Is UConn+ free to stream?

.-.

Well, Fagnano gets his shot against an FCS school. He needs to look excellent today.

I guess the back up is Tucker McDonald. I would love to see him get some minutes if Fagnano gets a good lead.

Yes, but you may have to sign up to get access. I'd figure it out before game time.

DL Yates and DB Dixon/Williams still out in addition to Evers. Durante Jones sits for the first half as well.

.-.
Would have liked Evers to be able to get back on track against an FCS team, but as the seasoned player Fagnano should be expected to come out and lead us to early and easy scores

Let’s go Huskies!

From the UConnhuskies.com website: The UConn football program announced that kick-off for their 2024 home opener against Merrimack on Saturday, September 7 is set for 12 noon with the game airing live on WFSB Channel 3 throughout Connecticut. The game will also be simulcast on WFSB's sister station, WWAX, as well as streamed online through UConn+.

UConn and WFSB Channel 3 begin year two of an exclusive media partnership in 2024-25. Last season's game against Sacred Heart also featured on WFSB and WWAX.

From WFSB.com: There are several ways you can watch The WAX. If you have cable TV, the easiest way is to just say “WAX TV” into you voice enabled remote control.

With an Over the Air Antenna – You will have to rescan your TV similar to how you did when you purchased your TV. Once complete, we are on Channel 27. You can also watch it on WFSB 3.4.
Comcast - Watch the Wax on Channel 931 and 1166.
Cox Cable – WWAX Channel 19 on all COX cable systems in Connecticut.
Altice Cable – Altice Cable has WWAX on Channel 113 in New Haven and Litchfield County and Channel 8 in Fairfield County.
Frontier- WWAX on Channel 27
Charter/Spectrum- Channel 795
