Luke Broadhurst is now getting a bunch of playing time at 3B for UConn. Of course, Padilla has pretty much settled in as the regular at 2B with Daniels out for the season.
 
Top 1st, Cinnella with a scoreless inning. He walked the leadoff batter, but the baserunner was eliminated on a double play. No score.
 
Bottom 1st, UConn offense goes down quickly in order. No score.

Top 2nd, after walking the leadoff hitter for the second straight inning, Cinnella gives up a no out 2 run homer. 2-0 Maine. Cinnella leaves a runner on base to end the inning. 2-0 Maine.
 
Bottom 2nd, UConn offense loads the bases with no outs. Malcom gets a fielders choice RBI for the 1st out. 2-1 Maine. Dalena follows with a 1 out 3 run homer. 4-2 UConn. After Shpur gets a walk, Padilla follows with a 2 out 2 run homer. 6-2 UConn. After Tammaro gets on base with a walk and advances to 2B on a balk, an RBI double by Morton makes the score 7-2 UConn.

Chris Jones says that next season UConn will play Maine in a 3 game weekend series at the end of the regular season. Originally, Oklahoma State was to play at UConn that weekend in a 3 game series, but the series was cancelled due to Big 12 conference realignment.
 
Bottom 3rd, Studley leads off the inning with a solo homer, 10-2 UConn. With 1 out, Tammaro gets on base with a walk, and then steals 2B and 3B. Morton follows with a walk to put runners on the corners (Morton has been getting more walks recently). Broadhurst follows with a 1 out RBI single, 11-2 UConn.

Bottom 3rd, with 1 out, UConn offense again loads the bases this game on a Garbowski walk. Malcom follows with a 1 out RBI single that drives in 2 runs. 13-2 UConn. Dalena walks to load the bases again for UConn. An RBI fielders choice out by Shpur, 14-2 UConn. On a 2 out walk by Studley there is a wild pitch, which brings in another run, 15-2 UConn. Padilla walks to load the bases again, Tammaro follows with an RBI infield single, 16-2 UConn.

Jack Sullivan coming in to pitch to top of the 4th for UConn.

Chris Jones wondering if the 10 run mercy rule is in effect for this game, as it was around for the game yesterday. Guess we'll find out in the 7th inning if UConn maintains this big lead.

Bottom 4th, Minick comes into the game, leading off pinch hitting for Broadhurst. With 2 outs UConn offense puts runners on the corners. A passed ball brings in a run, 17-2 UConn. After Shpur is hit by a pitch putting 2 runners on base, Simmons pinch hits for Studley. Simmons comes up with a triple to drive in 2 runs, 19-2 UConn.
 
Top 5th, Hyde comes in to catch, and Alejandro comes in to pitch.

This is one game where we could see some UConn pitchers who have not gotten much time on the mound in games this season.

Top 6th, Turner records 2 outs sandwiched around a single and a stolen base. Turner comes out of the game, lefty Kieran Finnegan comes in to pitch making his UConn pitching debut.

Sounds like the mercy rule might be in effect, so this very well might be the last half inning.

Cameron Mayer comes in to pitch in the top of the 7th.
 
What do u even say after a game like this. At least the St John’s series has some draw to it followed by KSU and BC. Some good matchups there. I can’t help but find it difficult to get excited for BE conference play and it reminds me of trying to look forward to the basketball team playing Tulsa or Tulane on a Sunday at 2pm while a part of the AAC. I know the conf is much improved, but these schools just don’t move the needle for baseball. I’m not trying to put the BE down.
