One less day of rest for starting pitching. Fast forward to BEC, again, one less day of rest for starting pitching (and all pitchers for that matter). These 3 are must win to solidify our resume, but interested to see the approach to pitching understanding we start on Wednesday....but, can't give these away.

I'm inclined to think that UConn will be okay if they take at least 2 games in the Maine series, but if this were the case I would think that UConn would probably have to make it to the finals of the Big East tournament.

Still, obviously it would be nice if UConn could sweep another weekend series, but I have mentioned before this tends to be a tough accomplishment no matter how poor the other team is in baseball.

Maine has the same issue having to play Wednesday for there tournament. Their starting pitchers are the stength of the team and I’m sure they will be under some pitch restrictions knowing they need to win their tournament.

I do wonder if Penders has given thought to sitting Padilla, who is important defensively and a leader, and moving Minnick to 3rd, letting McArthur play first and Root Dan Hurley, preventing him having to sit one of Root, McArthur, Dougherty or Billings every game. Unlike having pushed Cooke to start Tuesday night, I don't feel strongly about this move. Just wondering if the extra defense is worth sitting one of those bats every game.

I see that happening if we get a big lead. Also, if guys are banged up, that could play a role in the decision making.

PS. gotta love spell check!!

It is also possible that injuries to various players may influence the decision to play Minick at 1B.

Padilla hits quality pitching in the postseason. Depth is never a bad thing.

Why is it that watching some of these games is like watching my kid in his first year of kid pitch. I just can't believe all the walks.
