Top 6th, Menzel leads off with a double, he moves to 3B on a fly out for the 1st out. It ends up being a scoreless inning for the UConn offense. 7-2 UConn.
 
Bottom 6th, Pudvar gets a pop out for the 1st out, and then comes out of the game. Smith takes the mound for UConn.

With 2 outs Smith issues a walk followed by a single. A ground out ends the inning. 7-2 UConn.

Top 7th, Tirado leads off with a double, with 2 batters hit by pitches loads the bases with 2 outs. The runners are left on base. 7-2 UConn.

Belisario takes over in CF, Taylor moves to RF, Watcher moves to LF. Polemeni comes out of the game.

Top 9th, a lead off walk for Wachter, he moves to 2B on a wild pitch and to 3B on a sac bunt for the 1st out. Rispoli follows with a 1 out walk putting runners on the corners. A sac fly for the 2nd out by Menzel drives in a run, 9-2 UConn.

Marshall gets a 2 out single putting 2 runners on base. A walk by Dalena loads the bases. Thomas is hit by a pitch, bringing in a run. 10-2 UConn.

Tirado gets a walk bringing in another run. 11-2 UConn.

Righi pinch hits for Belisario who has an injury that prevents him from batting, Righi grounds out to end the inning. 11-2 UConn.

Woohoo! Huskies win the series. By the end of the season, hopefully AZ lives up to expectations and these are quality wins.
 
I really don’t have a clue about us coming off this road trip. Is the pitching as God awful as it looked the first 4 games or as outstanding as it looked against UofA? No clue. Let’s see what next week brings.

Winning 3 of 4 at AZ without your best player bodes well. Lots of winnable series ahead if the starting pitching is for real. I think it is. 5 out of 8 starts have been good.
