Can't blame Root for being thrown out at home as Biller fell down between second and third and forced Root to try to score.

That’s a designed play just like the 1st and 3rd steal they pulled off a few times this year. You got 2 strikes on the hitter and you try and make something happen to steal a run.

We got away with that play twice. Way too much hubris to think someone wouldn’t notice it and be ready for it. The catcher had the ball in time to clean out his email before having to make the tag. Also, with runners at the corners, if you’re out you’re giving up an at bat where a single gets you one run. With bases loaded, you’re giving up an AB where a single gets you two, so the downside is larger while the upside stays the same.

Just lucky it didn’t matter yesterday.
