O.K. Complain. What %age of Big East teams have 12 of 12 over the air? What percentage of BCS teams? You will find that very few ACC or Big East teams, at least, have averaged the percentage of games on TV that we have.
Unless, of course, you are complaining not because we are behind our peers, but just because you feel like establishing goals no one can reach because it makes you happy..

I'm not challenging you counselor, but I would like to see the data that you refer to there, with the percentages.

How many programs in the country do actually have 12 out of 12 on the air this year? Who are they?

I really think this information would be good to know, becuase of the ones that do have 12 out of 12 easily accessible over the air.....I'd like to see matched up with the logos on this page.......just for edification.......

No -- I was telling the person who wanted to complain that before you criticize there is an obligation to look for facts to see if the criticism is valid.

I can tell you just from paying attention every week that I'm 99.9% sure that our percentage of games that has been televised over the last few years is higher than Syracuse's and Rutger's and about a high if not higher than anyone else in our conference potentially save WVU. But I have no data -- that's just from paying attention to whom is being broadcast every week.

Fair enough, but I think you know the danger of assuming things. I disagree with your observation, but I also don't have the data. I do know that UConn football is much more accessible on television during the course of a season starting with 2010, than it ever was prior.

We still ahve played more games on Wednesday nights, than we've had home games Saturdays at 3:30pm EST, and that's a problem. Just being on TV isn't good enough, it's about when and how you are on TV too.

I'll tell you what really sucks - the lack of a radio affiliate in Fairfield County - for football and hoops - I don't mind listening to games, but reception of 1080 in Norwalk is usually iffy at best

I don't know about other cities, but here in NYC having 11 of 12 UConn games on TV is better than almost any other football program. I would guess that Notre Dame has 12 of 12, but I can't think of any other program that has 12 of 12 games on TV in New York. In fact, I can't think of another besides UConn that has 11 of 12. Because I subscribe to Time Warner Cable, through which I have access to ESPN3, I am actually able to watch all 12 UConn games this year. I understand that some people are frustrated that they don't have ESPN3 and therefore can't watch this Saturday's game, but let's be real. Just a few years ago relatively few UConn games were on TV, at least in New York. We've come a long way, baby. UConn: "New York's team."

No, no, no. I did not make an assumption. I made an observation. Two entirely different things. I have given you the basis for my observation, and you are welcome to confirm or disprove it, but an observation does not become an assumption merely because I don't have a day to spend going back and finding data on line.e I

I am a cablevision customer, but I don't have a problem logging into ESPN3.

And, if you don't get it, the odds are very high that if you go to first row sports there will be a link you can use to get the broadcast. But I don't think you will know that for sure until game time.

Just to clarify: I'm not allowed to post without proving that UConn's TV situation is worse than other BCS schools, but the lawyer is allowed to lecture me on how I don't have facts...even though he doesn't have the time/will to find facts, either.

Pot, meet kettle.

And to clarify - I'm not saying that the games need to be on Directv type stations. they could find a way to get this game on PBS or cox sports tv or whatever the heck else and I'd count that and be happy with it.

If you are telling me that LSU or FSU play games that cannot be seen on televisions, that would come as a tremendous surprise to me.

Sorry though - I'll ask your permission next time before voicing my opinion without researching a full thesis.

I feel like this is going to still be on at the sports bars. Last week a good friend of mine told me the Auburn game was ONLY on ESPN3 and they still showed it at Buffalo Wild Wings. Maybe I'm missing something, though.

I think you are screwed. Your internet provider has to be on board. I have Cox and ESPN3 and before they signed on Cox wasn't an option.

Sean -- with all due respect, I know you're wrong. It's that simple. Rutgers, to take the best example (because of their geographical and developmental proximity) has averaged probably 2 to 3 games a year over the last few only on the internet. We've averaged about one. So I am not trying to compete with you over research grants -- I'm just telling you that we have a high percentage of games on TV compared to our peers.

That's all.

I think your friend was wrong...the Auburn game was on a number of stations depending on where you were. It was even on Gameplan.

Here is the link to the TV schedule. In Atlanta, I watched it on a local station (during breaks in the UConn game of course)

Do you think our football program (and all the other Big East football programs) and our fan base is such, that the broadcasting reach, availabilty, extent that you describe is warranted?

How you answer that question - will go a long way, as to what you will accept to be a good deal, when the new broadcasting deal is finally done.

I love Big East football, but I also live in the real world. This game is controlled by the MAC, so unless you think all of the MAC's games should be broadcast on national TV I really don't see what your point is
