UConn @ UVA Davenport Field (3/20/19 @ 4p on ACC Network Extra )

Wurster warming in the pen. I'm thinking Penders takes out Dunlop with a nice taste of success in his mouth.

UConn batters go down in order in the 6th. Dunlop stays in for the bottom of the inning. Chris Jones thinks Wurster may be coming in for the third batter of the inning, a lefty swinger.

I know we couldn't go on scoring 10.5 runs a game forever, but it would be nice if they at least put stress on UVA and didn't leave it entirely to our pitchers.

Gozzo throws out the base stealer to get the second out. Fly out for the third out. 3-1 UConn going to the top of the 7th.

Another three up three down inning for UConn batters. Bottom 7th, Wurster still in. 3 of the next 4 hitters are lefties according to Chris Jones.

Dandeneau coming in with one out in the bottom of the 7th. Wurster threw a total of 7 pitches.

Wurster was there to get the 2 lefties. Did his job. Interesting that he didn't trust Johnson enough to try to finish the 7th. So CJ and Wally have to get 9 outs between them, hopefully without either working so hard it effects how much they can throw over the weekend. But this isn't U-Ha or Central. You have to close this game out today and worry about Houston in 48 hours.

With 2 more lefties to follow and only having thrown 7 pitches surprised with the move already.

A little trouble now with a Dandeneau walk and catchers interference putting two runners on base with 1 out.

Wurster has been unbelievably useful. Thrilled for him; I think we can consider him to be one of the reliable guys out of the pen now.

Listen to those Penders postgame interviews and the way he talks about him, there is no doubt about it.

UVA's midweek pitching has been shelled all year. If we lose today (still holding out hope that we prevail), CJ would not be the primary reason.
