UConn/USF game thread

Wow, just saw the Nwestern game, up 37-9 on Rutgers. I thought that would be the score of this game after Uconn took a 9-0 lead to start the game. I can live with a 13 point lead though.
NW went on a 31 pt run.

I just realized ive got a full box of samoas in the cabinet!

Do you think the recruits we get are coming here for the opportunity to play the likes of USF, Tulane and Tulsa in front of a half-filled building? Who could recruit better players given our situation?

Why do the apologists separate where "we are" from KO. This is his mess, he didn't just show up. And doesn't arguing he is a great recruiter with these results make the point that maybe he's not a great coach?

According to some on this board UCon 's coaches are poor at teaching FT.

According to some on the board, Larrier and Gilbert wouldn't have made us better. I take some of the board's statements with a few grains of salt... ;)

Not worried in the least about the small crowd. As poorly as the Huskies have played and this being a Thursday night I didn't expect much of a turnout, though I'll admit I expected more than this. If they get the W tonight, there will be a decent crowd tomorrow. My feeling is that despite the odds, as long as they're playing anything can happen.

BTW, Enoch is showing a nice touch at the free throw line. This bodes well for the future.

I don't think I've seen anyone lose a dribble off their foot since Hoosiers.
You must have forgotten the last minute of the 2011 semis. Don't blame you.

Vi
I love KO and generally think he's a better Xs & Os guy than given credit for, but we cannot say the guy who called 4 different Brimah post-ups is "coaching a smart game."

He's doing well managing/staggering minutes. But let's not go overboard.
I'm generally one of KO's harsher critics, but I like what I'm seeing. I mean in the recent past 4 blown possessions in the paint by Brimah would have meant Brimah stays in until we're down 13, not seeing that here. He yanked him early and quickly.

Wouldn't happen if Jalen wasn't gimpy and Kentan could make a shot. Or if AG was playing

How does that change this double digit lead being a good situation?

Yeah, I mean, it's not like you're getting a "UConn 2017 National Champions" tattoo -- just saying being up 13 is OK.

Rutgers being Rutgers.

Would like to see Northwestern finally in the tourney. Hard to believe they've never made it ever.

True, rutgers being rutgers. If uconn does not make a miracle run these next few days, I am kind of pulling for nwestern for a few weeks in my life. I like the story.

Rutty beat a bad Ohio St team that UConn lost to to get perspective

OMG

Imagine huge upgrades over CV and VJ. Huge difference.

It doesn't but this should be a routine 30 point beat down. Get a huge lead early and take Adams out of the game.

A little side note: I had no idea that Mizzou was 8-23. Ouch! I though we were having a rough season...

Well, we are up 13 at half and sat Facey for a while with 2 fouls. There's still plenty of time for this to end up being 30 by the end of the game. If it is, will you be alright? ;)

13 x 2 = 26

So it's not out of the realm of possibility. Not sure we're capable of it.

Hard to imagine ever being as unexcited for a UConn postseason game.

Someone said it in another thread but bears repeating. For the most part I've become numb to our current conference situation, but this week hurts.
