Agree, but It is part of the max effort approach being promoted these days. From travel ball to the bigs, less control and command, less mixing speeds and spots. And more TJ. My hope is that Huskies can find more Krauths, Petersons and Stefanonis. Less of these kids with no feel. Ball-throwing robots. The equivalent on the offensive side is the kid who is looking to pull every slider over the left field fence and strikes out an “acceptable” once a game to hit 10 homers in a season. Yuck.Teaching control is very difficult. Oversimplifying a bit, but in many cases, you either have it or you don't. It comes down to recruiting.
