Bottom 5th, Stefanoni gives up a leadoff walk, his first walk of the season. Pitching change, Ian Cooke coming in to pitch. Guess Cooke won't be starting on Wednesday against Bryant.

Tritons greet Cooke with a double and an rbi single. 6-5 UConn, runners on the corners with no outs. RBI double ties the game.

Interesting that he would choose a bullpen day on Wednesday, when everyone is disoriented from the redeye back tonight, instead of sending Cooke back to CT ahead of time for Wednesday and going deeper into the pen today.

Meanwhile Cooke gives us double single and one run in, runners at the corners, no one out. 6-5 Huskies.

RBI single makes it 7-6 Tritons. Runners on the corners, no outs. Another pitching change, Garrett Coe coming in.

That was an extremely uncharacteristic outing for Cooke

Well, that's baseball, almost everyone has a bad outing at some point. Anyway, Cooke only threw 13 pitches. He might not start on Wednesday, but he could certainly come out of the bullpen again and eat up some innings if the coaches decide to use him that way.

Only at 68 pitches. And like you would have thought Cooke was our Wednesday starter.

68 pitches, but he was getting hit around in a way we have not seen yet. After the walk, I can certainly understand taking Stefanoni out. Tritons seemed to have his number.

Bottom 7th, 1 out and the bases loaded, Garrett Coe coming out, freshman Brady Afthim in to pitch.

Afthim with 2 strikeouts gets out of it. 7-6 Tritons.

Bottom 8th, Brendan O'Donnell takes the mound to start the inning.

Since we haven't seen Sullivan, could he be the Wednesday starter? Unless there will be a Jimmy Wang sighting!

Bottom 8th, O'Donnell gets a strikeout, then gives up a single. Sullivan coming in to pitch. I had the suspicion Sullivan would be the closer tonight, as I doubt Willis is available after throwing 47 pitches on Saturday.

Hit and run single, followed by a sac fly gives the Tritons an 8-7 lead. Donlan throws out a base stealer to end the inning.

Chris Jones has been very complementary this weekend about the way UC San Diego plays baseball. Says they have a lot of grit to them, among other things.
