Tulane has two freshmen from CT that were very highly touted in the Gozzo brothers. I'm interested to see how they do. In my opinion, UConn should have done everything possible to get them to commit here.

Sal Gozzo is a SS and Paul Gozzo is a C. We ended up with Prato and Moriarity as SS in this class. Susi has C locked down, so doubtful that Paul Gozzo would have gotten more time than Bergman is getting this year. We will see how Bergman does next year. I am more than happy with this freshman class of position players that UConn brought in and do not see how the Gozzo's would have added much to the equation. Time will tell.

Sal has more pop than Prato and is a better fielder, and that's not to take shrug off what Prato has done for this team. Had Sal committed, him and Prato playing 2B and SS would instantly be the best middle infield in the conference. As for Paul, he probably would have to sit behind Susi as a freshman, but he also played first when he was dealing with shoulder issues in HS. Both would be atop our freshman class as far as potential. They played with Winkel in the area code games. They're legit.

The pitching matchups favor us. I would love to keep their misery going!

Bottom 1st, Tulane gets a long one out double off of Tim Cate, but that runner is left stranded as Cate retires the other hitters. No score after the 1st inning.

Did the stream just crash, stop working for anyone else?

.-.
Krueger RBI single drives in John Toppa to give UConn a 1-0 lead in the top of the 2nd. Krueger has been better than I was expecting in the 9 spot in the order so far this year.

Oh well, base running mistake by Krueger prevents UConn from getting another run that inning.

Very nice job Krueger. We have to keep scoring vs. this kid though.

Edit: what happened with Prato's at bat?

.-.
Bottom 3rd, Tulane puts together some hits, gets 2 runs off of Cate giving Tulane a 2-1 lead.

.-.
Cate now having control problems, bases loaded with 2 out in the 3rd.

Absolutely ridiculous. We cost ourselves a run and we give them a bunch. Walk bug has bitten Cate too.
