Ines is at Gonzaga and Saylor is at Maryland. Where is Qadence?

Just a reminder - there’s no need to make harsh assessments about our former Huskies. They came to UConn then decided it’s not for them. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that and I’m sure most people wish them well and are rooting for them.

FYI, the posts you see in this thread are fine. I was making a general statement

Thanks for the updates on former players. I watch a lot of Gonzaga games, so I get watch Ines play. She looks so comfortable out there. And since I live in Big Ten country, I get to see a lot of Maryland games or their highlights. Saylor is such a versatile player. I hope she gets an invite to the WNBA draft. She could do well in the WNBA. I have not watch too many ACC games but I am happy for Q being at NC State.
 
So glad they are flourishing. Really rooting for Q and Ines. As a side note, I thought that when Amari transferred a few years back, she might flourish as well, but she ended up coming off the bench with limited minutes and production. She played 20 games for Maryland, started 2, averaged just over 7 minutes per game and 2.4 PPG. She always had a great attitude at UConn.
 
Saylor has had a solid career and I would not be surprised if she is drafted by the WNBA. Currently averaging a little over ten points a game and had 30, including the game winner, in a double OT win against Minnesota.

Saylor, Mir McLean, and their other Maryland teammates play at 4 pm eastern time today (January 18) at UCLA, nationally televised game on NBC. I am hoping that the Terps make that game competitive.

I was kinda surprised by Saylor's rebounding ability when she was playing for Arkansas. I believe at some point she was the SEC's leading per game rebounder.

Q looks good as a starter for NC State. I just don't think the coaches worked enough with her last year.
 
I just turned on the NC State/Louisville game. Per the box score Q has played almost the whole game in 3 quarters, has 7 points and 8 rebounds. From the little I've watch Q looks like a starter. She did blow an easy layup, but who are we to criticize her for that😋

Right; she led the team in rebounds. She was taken out of the game when they had an 11 point lead.....They have just lost in overtime.

Q really coming into her own now. Coach Wes was very patient with her, and surprisingly the improvement came in the tougher ACC games. She has now locked down her starting spot - 8 big rebounds today in their "coulda" been a win over Louisville. Fact check: overtime loss.

Yes, but if Poster X has been quoted, as @RSHERMVIKES did with @JoePgh and as I am now doing with you, Xenoro will send a quote alert to Poster X's "Alerts" feed. So, it's not necessary to create a tag alert if one has already created a quote alert to Poster X in a message.

Moreover, if you both quote Poster X and tag her in the same message, such as I am now doing with @HuskyNan, Xenforo will prioritize the quote alert and won't send the tag alert.

At least that's how the Xenforo forum I own and another I moderate (neither basketball) are configured. Nan, you should be able to tell whether yours is so configured from my quoting and tagging you in this message. I'm curious as to the outcome.

She has become quite a good player, which I think Geno fully expected. She could probably start for us too. Not sure why she struggled to find a home but it took a couple of tries.

In 19 games Q is shooting about 35% overall, 25% from 3, has 25 assists with 19 turnovers, and gets just under 5 rebounds per game, all while playing starter minutes. I saw some of her game vs Louisville. Her defense also remains suspect. She made the right move. I highly doubt her role would have been any different this season with us.

Don't understand. Inês transferred from UConn to Gonzaga, where she is still playing.
Are you saying that she visited other schools but they weren't interested? If so, who were they?
 
Does anyone know if Q has been presented with her championship rings?

According to her mother, there were other reasons:

“Amy Poffenbarger, Saylor’s mother, said Monday that her daughter’s decision wasn’t based solely on basketball, although it appeared Saylor might have a tough time earning significant minutes on Auriemma’s typically deep roster. After being in Storrs, Connecticut, for about 11 months, she got a full picture of the university and decided it wasn’t completely for her.
“It’s been a conversation, and it’s not all basketball,” Amy Poffenbarger said regarding Saylor’s decision. “The academic [side] wasn’t super-engaging, there wasn’t much to the campus life, and there wasn’t the ability to get out and meet a lot of people. Unfortunately that part of college life ... that part wasn’t happening for her.”
Saylor informed her parents Monday. Amy said she and her husband, Bill, were proud that she’d taken all factors into consideration and figured it out on her own.”
