I agee that it comes down to that but not as simply as you imply. It would be more than just one year - and then at the point being a success and sustaining and being part of the AAC - I don't think it will be realistic enough for what the B1G is looking for. IMO we just won't be able to generate enough revenue for them to take us.
I don't think it'll be based on past revenue, but what is possible at UCONN in the future. If we prove we can rate in the NY market (as we already do with basketball), it should be good. The B1G brought Rutgers in because they thought it would help them capture NYC (and because of AAU). When they find out it doesn't really, they'll look to add. UCONN also would grab them a good slice of Boston. BC just does not rate.
But you are right, within a year is too much to expect. The guy in the interview is nuts.
