UConn-Texas Game Thread

This is the type of game UConn needs and what Geno was hoping for last season. Remember when they blew out everyone last season? When the Miss St. game happened, the team fell under the pressure. This will help them in March

UConn will definitely win now. As poorly as that looked like it might go, to only be down 3? Texas is in trouble once UConn settles down on D.
 
Huge 3 by Lou to close the quarter, and probably should have been an and-1. She is our go-to player tonight.

Collier is in shell-shocked MSU form, and Gabby isn't out-athleticizing this team.

Lou and Crystal have their head in the game. Others not yet. We need to force a few turnovers and get transition baskets.
 
Why can't the refs go to the replay to verify the time of the hoop AND THE MISSED FOUL CALL???
 
Our man to man is just bestter than our zone. Always has been. It has been better in recent years but we still are better at man defense. I'm encouraged.
 
Let's continue to play with high pace on offense and press them on the perimeter on defense, forcing them to dribble into our shot blockers. UConn however can't continue to allow Goudreau to be effective in the offense end.

Decent comeback from the early minutes. Keep up the defensive pressure and get the offense flowing.
 
Something I hoped for this season was for gabby to have a more consistent jumper. Teams play so far off of her that it negates her ability to drive and clogs the lane

Thats the problem with Gabby being so undersized. When she plays a team that has equal athleticism she is neutralized because she can't shoot over opposing posts. Collier needs to get out of her own head and just play basketball!
 
Texas played with far more energy and confidence in that quarter.

Tough for UConn to get anything on the offensive end besides a KLS jumper coming off a screen.

Z has been effective in the paint, not sure why she’s staying in the high post
