Let’s be clear — I do not hope Evers ”gets hurt.” What I saw at the end of the game at UAB was him smiling after the comeback, shaking hands with teammates and walking under his own power.

I don’t root for the other team’s star player to get hurt in a game. That’s not the same as hoping he doesn’t play because he’s banged up in some way. Hoping that Evers isn’t at 100% and can’t play because of an injury he suffered that wasn’t interfering with him walking around enjoying the comeback is nowhere near saying I hope he or anyone else gets injured or hurt.

And I am perfectly willing to die on that hill if no one else sees it that way (although it’s clear that many others see it the same way).
Just own it and move on.

You have been giving people crap by selectively parsing words for as long as I’ve been a lurker here. You were called out using the same game you play routinely.

You don't know the difference between fact and opinion. Fagano came in and threw 3 TD's after more than a week off. The timing seemed fine to me. Healing time and prep time triumphs "timing" here. IMO, of course.
Actually it seems that I do know the difference between fact and opinion. That was against Buffalo. The week before was not a bye week.

Better to use the Wake example which did involve a bye week. An extra week to heal and yet they came out flat and stunk against Wake. And yes, their timing was off for almost the whole first half.

Do we have to have the discussion of Fan Boys vs. Analysts again? Analysts try to see things as they are and are not worried about being Mr. Positivity. I thought you lived through that discussion with the rest of us.

As someone pointed out in this thread, Syracuse’s best defensive unit is their secondary. It is stout.

It makes sense for UConn to start Fagnano, to keep the second level defenders off the line of scrimmage and back in the secondary. That way we can push the Canadians’ front line back to Montreal.

But, as all of you know, Evers will play and the box will be stuffed which hurts our run game.

LOL. I quoted my post and his post. You can’t tell the difference between a quote and parsing? Get smarter.
Come on BL just put this to bed. Saying hope he hasn't recovered is not the same as saying hope he gets hurt, but just sounds off. Nothing you say is going to stop some guys seeing/reading intent that isn't there.

love the way fran brown said Joe "Fag-NAY-no" in his presser this week lol.
that dude is camden NJ to the bone.

Could care less how other try to decipher my intent. I don’t wish for anyone to be hurt. But as I believe Evers will start if he’s at 100%, I’m fine with him not being fully recovered by Saturday at noon.

This is hilarious.

There's not much to decipher. You've typed it a half-dozen times. You don't wish him to be "more hurt", you just wish for him to be "less well" so that you can get what you want. We get it. It's a bad look.

But hey, you do you...

Why jump into this sideshow - we’ll b/c it’s the BY. Here’s my view

If Evers is 95-100% he will start. I’m just looking at a guy who has not been healthy all year. Give him a rest.

But hey, you do you...
Thank you. Intend to do just that. (And thank you that, no matter how many times people attack me for exactly the same thing, I should just not respond. I'm sure that's advice you live by.)

I don't believe Evers has been 100% this year except for the first half versus Maryland. He has been concussed and suffered lower extremity injuries. At this point, it would be difficult to call him a dual threat QB as the threat of him running is close to zero. He might be able to run but it's no threat.

It will be interesting what Mora decides to do.

-> “The first thing that sticks out when you watch UConn is how well-coached they are,” Barron said. “Very assignment oriented, everyone has a job and they do their job and don’t worry about doing someone else’s job. They communicate very well up front, their backs are big and they like to make plays.

Outside, they’ve got some transfers that are all athletic. Both the quarterbacks (Nick Evers and Joe Fagnano) are really talented. So we’ve got a lot to deal with it. They’ve really improved a lot the last couple of years since Coach Mora has been there and it’s really impressive to see. And I’m very happy for them, being a Connecticut kid.”<-

-> “Oh, he stands out,” Mora said. “He’s so versatile, he does everything well. He’s kind of the core of the defense. incredibly smart, great anticipation, tremendous length. They can play him anywhere. He can cover backs, he can go out and cover wideouts, he runs to the ball well. He’s physical. I mean, I have watched him for three years and have great respect for him. I think he’s going to be a great NFL player some day because of the traits he has. The way the game is played today, in space, he has all the attributes you need to be a great player.” <-
